Thunderjaw Guide for LEGO Horizon Adventures

Thunderjaw Guide for LEGO Horizon Adventures

With a new take on the story of Horizon Zero Dawn instead of being a straight lift like the remastered version, there is certainly fresh stuff to look forward to when players jump into Lego Horizon Adventures. Sure, the cast may be the same as Aloy, Erend, Teersa, and Varl come together to save the day, but the gameplay is distinctly different from the third-person action adventure that you may be used to.

Unlike other open-world Lego games, this is a more linear affair, and the exploration sections of the game will eventually lead to combat encounters with both cultists and machines alike. The former is easily dealt with, but for the latter, attacking their weak points and taking advantage of elemental synergies are still the most important strategies in combat. Should you still find yourself needing more help, especially when dealing with the more dangerous Thunderjaw boss in Lego Horizon Adventures, this guide is for you.

With more gadgets and rare weapons in your arsenal, it makes sense that the game will start throwing more challenging foes at you, and the iconic Thunderjaw is certainly one of them. To have any chance of surviving this epic encounter, the same strategies apply here, meaning that heating weak points is your best way to victory. However, the fight does feature unique mechanics that you will need to take note of.

Thunderjaw Boss Fight First Phase

In this first phase, you will enter a section of the Cauldron that has limited space to work with. The Thunderjaw is not just the only threat here, with it constantly firing projectiles and using its swiping attacks to catch you off guard. On occasions, it will also roar to call its allies, which summons a bunch of cultists to enter the fight. The numbers game means you are disadvantaged, so it is best to wrap this phase up as soon as possible. Using Aloy or Varl makes the most sense in this scenario.

This can be done by looking to the extreme left or right to find the electrified barrels on moving platforms. Time it right to grab hold of one, jump back to the center platform, and aim the barrel at the electrical terminal on the nearby pillar. This will shock the Thunderjaw and remove a chunk of its health. Repeat this process while staying away from its attacks and the cultists, and the battle will move into the next phase.

Now, you will be on the same platform as the Thunderjaw, which means the danger is magnified. Aside from its swiping attacks, you must look out for its quick-firing projectiles and AoE attacks. Always be on the move, and start attacking either of its legs.

By doing enough damage, it will fall to the ground, exposing the two weak points on its head. Start using your rare weapons and gadgets to deal the most damage, and back off once it starts getting up. Now, repeat the process until the Thunderjaw is finally brought to heel, allowing the team to claim another metal flower for their quest.
