These are the characters that can’t seem to stop getting love.

Being the final arc, we got to see many characters in play, from fan favorites like Gojo and Todo, to surprise cameos like Miguel. These are some of the best fights in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc.

Miguel Versus Sukuna

Miguel in Shinjuku in Jujutsu Kaisen.

This arc had its fair share of surprise guests, and one of the most fun was Miguel. Returning from all the way back in Jujutsu Kaisen 0, in which we saw Gojo give Miguel an unforgettable beatdown, he comes to our heroes’ aid rather than as an enemy.

Miguel is surprisingly strong, as we saw during his fight with Gojo. Using his special Black Rope to cancel out some of Sukuna’s technique, and his Prayer Song to increase his strength, Miguel was able to put up a decent fight against the King of Curses, and was a fun surprise for readers.

Kusakabe Versus Sukuna

Kusakabe is one of those characters that didn’t seem like much at first glance, but ended up sticking around for the entirety of the manga and becoming an important advisor to our students. And in this arc, he even has to go toe-to-toe with Sukuna.

He may not be one of the stronger sorcerers in the series, but he put up a decent fight as a new shadow style master. As he himself admits often, he stands no chance against someone on Sukuna’s level, but when push came to shove, he faced off against the King of Curses and survived, which is worth giving props for.

5

Takaba Versus Kenjaku

This fight being on the list is bound to be controversial. Besides Sukuna, Kenjaku is the prevailing villain of the story, and being taken out by a sneak attack from Yuta might be a disappointing ending for some.

But, the battle between Takaba and Kenjaku is entertaining as it is not the typical type of fight we’re used to in the series. Takaba’s technique is incredibly strong, allowing him to use comedy to create practically anything, leading to really interesting and funny panels and references. Kenjaku also becomes more interested in Takaba than anyone he has met in a long time, which even leads to a mysterious panel with Takaba at the end of the manga.

Yuji And Yuta Versus Sukuna

Many people in the JJK fandom prefer Yuta over Yuji as a main character, and whichever one of the boys you prefer, getting to see them team up against Sukuna was a treat for both fans.

Not only are two-versus-one fights some of the best battles in the series, but we finally get to see Yuta’s domain expansion, which gives off vibes of Archer’s Unlimited Blade Works from the Fate series.

Yuji And Todo Versus Sukuna

Yuji and Todo have quickly become one of the most iconic duos in anime/manga, and they get to have one final collaboration in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc.

This fight features the triumphant return of Todo, thought to be out of commission since the loss of his hand (and therefore, his cursed technique), but he appears with an instrument on his arm that allows him to clap even faster than before.

2

Yuta (Gojo) Versus Sukuna

This is easily one of the most shocking moments in the series, and reading it live was an unforgettable experience. Using the corpse of Kenjaku and Rika’s technique, as well as some surgery from Ieri, the sorcerers are able to transplant Yuta’s brain into Gojo and have him fight Sukuna.

Not only is this an incredibly hype and clever way to amp up the fight, it also allows the question posed since the beginning of the series to be answered: Is Satoro Gojo the strongest because he’s Gojo, or is he Gojo because he’s the strongest? Yuta tries his best and manages to use Gojo’s techniques to the best of his strength, but he was unable to fully match Gojo’s capabilities. Nevertheless, this fight was incredible to watch.

1

Gojo Versus Sukuna

The Strongest Sorcerer in History versus the Strongest Sorcerer of Today. The entire manga had been leading up to this point from the very beginning, and it delivered. With Gojo freed and ready to go, as well as Sukuna in Megumi’s body and equipped with his techniques, the stage was set for an incredible fight.

We finally got to see Gojo go all-out, and just how much he is capable of as the Strongest Sorcerer of Today, utilizing hand-to-hand combat, his red, blue, and purple techniques, domain expansion clashes, and reverse cursed technique. From Sukuna we got not only his usual arsenal, but bringing Mahoraga and a new shikigami, Merged Beast Agito, to the fight. These factors led to the most memorable fight in the series, with a conclusion that led fans across the world in mourning.
