The Best Alpha Bosses In Palworld

The Best Alpha Bosses In Palworld

While there are a huge number of cute pals to get in Palworld, that’s not what the game is all about, and you can choose to take on some powerful Alpha bosses to bring more excitement and challenge to your gameplay. They are not as strong as some Raid Bosses, but underestimating them will bring you defeat.

All new Pals for an all new region!

From Jormuntide to Jetdragon, there are a huge number of Alpha bosses to conquer in Palworld. A few of the earlier bosses are easier to beat, but the ones you encounter in late-game cannot be defeated unless you are fully prepared. There are some you will find in the coldest of lands, and some like to live inside volcanoes.

Jormuntide

A jormuntide is swimming in a lake in palworld.

Jormuntide is a water-type Alpha boss, which is quite formidable, and you shouldn’t tackle it before you have caught a few Ground pals. Defeating it can be challenging as it’s found within lakes so your Ground Pals might not be that useful if their attacks aren’t long-range.

To make the battle easier, you can also bring Jormuntide to the ground by grabbing its attention. Once it becomes your ally, you will have a strong Pal who can use some really good water-type attacks. Jormuntide design is interesting as it appears as a hybrid between a water serpent and a dragon.

Anubis

The player is facing off against Anubis.

Anubis is one of the strongest Alpha bosses you will encounter during Palworld, considering it knows some good Ground-type moves. If you somehow end up reaching the Twilight Dunes in the early part of the game, you should not try to engage it in battle, as you will surely lose.

You will have a hard time going against it if you don’t have some good Grass Pals in your team, and even then you still need at least a Legendary Sphere to catch it without any problems. Anubis shares the same name and design as its inspiration in Egyptian mythology.

Blazamut

A picture of Palworld showing Alpha Boss Blazamut roaring at the player.

Blazamut is one of the most intimidating-looking pals, which appears almost diabolic due to the presence of its horns. You will have a hard time dodging his attacks, due to its tendency to constantly use strong fire moves against you. After surviving its torment, you get little chance to capture it with spheres weaker than a Legendary Sphere.

Its counterpart Blazamut Ryu which is a Raid Boss is even stronger to defeat.

Alright, who’s next?

Blazamut has a powerful moveset, and capturing it will let you control all those strong moves that Blazamut uses against you. It can be helpful for your base as well, considering its excellent Kindling and Mining stats.

Astegon

Player riding the Astegon Pal in Palworld.

Astegon is among the strongest Dragon pals in the game, especially when the element is rarely seen as a dual-type with Dark. The Black Mighty Dragon with its origins in the Abyss is rarely found. Its location is also well hidden, and you will find it in one of the caves inside the Destroyed Mineshaft.

Though, it seems that Wildlife Sanctuary No.3 has gained interest in it, so you might find it there as well.

Astegon also has impressive mining skills, and it can break nodes quickly, especially the stronger ones which take a painfully hard time to break. It can learn Dark Laser and Dragon Meteor, and both of these moves deal massive damage.

Paladius and Necromus

Paladius and Necromus are twin alpha bosses, and to defeat them you have to deal with both of them at the same time, which makes this battle one of the hardest ones in Palworld. To come out victorious, you need the best equipment and guns, and your best Pals to inflict damage all at once.

While they may be twins, they are not the same type of Pals, so make sure to have Pals to tackle both of their weaknesses. Paladius is Normal-type and its counterpart is Dark-type. They have slight differences in their boss designs, but they both look like a knight combined with a horse.

Frostallion

A Frostallion flying in the sky in Palworld.

Frostallion has one of the most beautiful boss designs in Palworld, but it’s as dangerous as it looks. As the Pal is found in the coldest area of Palworld, it becomes that much harder to defeat it. This fight brings out the best of your survival capabilities that you have learned throughout the game.

Same, Depresso. Same.

Frostallion looks like a white horse with wings on it, and it’s as aggressive as a wild stallion, so to beat it you have to be on your toes, ready to dodge its long-range attacks. When you befriend it, Frostallion will become one of the strongest Ice Pals in your team.

Jetdragon

Palworld character aiming a rocket launcher at a blue dragon.

Jetdragon is tough to catch even on the easiest settings, as it’s hard to catch even when you use a Legendary Sphere. It’s a strong and fast Dragon Pal in the game and its moves, especially Dragon Meteor and Comet Beam can wipe out your Pal team within moments. It has a lot of HP which can only be depleted by powerful guns and pal moves.

When you catch Jetdragon, you can take it for a ride across Palpagos islands. It certainly makes the exploration a lot easier as you can move faster near the ground and water as well. Jetdragon has a cool design and looks like a plane and a dragon combined.
