Stellar Blade’s NieR: Automata Crossover and Photo Mode Launch on November 20
At long last, Stellar Blade‘s crossover with NieR: Automata has been given a release date of November 20, 2024. The two games‘ directors, Kim Hyung Tae and Yoko Taro, have mutual respect for one another, and it is no secret that Stellar Blade was heavily inspired by NieR: Automata. However, despite the crossover being given a release date, it seems that only a small bit of info about the event may have been revealed — at least, that is the hope.
It was assumed Stellar Blade‘s crossover with NieR: Automata would feature new outfits for EVE to wear, but since the game has received numerous free updates that have added countless new outfits to EVE’s wardrobe, the hope was that the Stellar Blade and NieR crossover would be more than that. Unfortunately, that may very well be all that the crossover entails, as the official description for the DLC states that “eleven different collaboration-special items will be available” via a new in-game shop. Nevertheless, it will be something new for Stellar Blade fans to enjoy, with NieR: Automata‘s Emil making her Stellar Blade debut by way of Emil’s Shop and the crossover items she has available in her inventory.

That’s not all that’s coming on November 20 with the Stellar Blade crossover event, as the long-awaited photo mode will finally be added as well. Included in the photo mode are various filters for players to use, different poses for EVE and her friends, and plenty of other tools for players to personalize their images with. The crossover event will also launch alongside a few updates to the base game, including four new outfits and one new accessory called “Symbol of Legacy,” which changes the appearance of Tachy Mode when it’s equipped. Additionally, players will be able to select a specific song from the Camp roundtable, EVE will receive a “No Ponytail” customization option, and enemy insta-kill skills will receive “auto-targeting and ballistics correction features.”
Stellar Blade Is Officially Headed to PC in 2025
While it won’t actually be happening in 2024, Stellar Blade has made sure its name will be remembered in 2024 with the announcement that it is headed to PC, targeting a 2025 release. It was always expected that Stellar Blade would make its way to PC at some point, as the game’s already stunning graphics merit an even bigger upgrade that only PC hardware can provide. However, that speculation has now been promoted to an official announcement, and fans can expect to see what a PC can do with Stellar Blade‘s captivating visuals sometime in 2025.
There is clearly still a lot for Stellar Blade fans to be excited about in 2024, even with the game now being over six months old. With the NieR: Automata crossover event starting soon, the addition of the new photo mode, and the announcement that Stellar Blade will be headed to PC in 2025, Shift Up’s beloved action-adventure is going out with a bang in 2024.
