All they have to do is just add the big themed dungeons around the world while keeping all the new gameplay elements. That’s it. And get rid of the construction stuff from Tears of the Kingdom or at least limit it in some way. Too distracting and can get the game to feel out of sorts. It is not a bad thing or gameplay element, it’s just not focused enough for a Zelda game. Maybe for an offshoot or something.
At the end of the day, Elden Ring proved that a massive open world with great dungeons sprinkled throughout makes for a fascinating classic goat experience. With a Breath of the Wild style Zelda all you have to do add the Themes and the Puzzles to the Dungeons and your’e set.
There’s no need or reason to go back to the old ways.
