In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, solving puzzles as you explore the worlds is optional, but that does not mean you should ignore them. The chests just out of reach often contain some of the best armor for you or your companions, and one particularly valuable chest lies beyond a broken Tattered Bridge.
To repair the Tattered Bridge, you will need to head to Arlathan Forest first. This puzzle requires slotting a crystal into various mechanisms, directing the beam to target specific devices, and ultimately summoning the Tattered Bridge to access the chest, and get the reward you have been looking at from a distance.
Tattered Bridge Location
The Tattered Bridge location can be found by reaching the northwestern part of the Arlathan Forest. You will get to access this area while exploring the Venatori’s increasing presence in Arlathan Forest during Unwanted Guests main mission.
How To Repair The Tattered Bridge In Arlathan Forest
To solve the Tattered Bridge puzzle, start by removing the slotted crystal to deactivate the wall blocking your way. Take the crystal with you and place it in another mechanism further down the path on the left side; this will activate a small bridge, allowing you to reach and interact with the beam device.
Next, rotate the beam device to face east, aiming it toward a mechanism located beneath a platform. This will power up the second beam device positioned above that platform.
The next step is to summon a bridge that gives you access to the second beam device. To do this, remove the crystal from the mechanism you used to create the first bridge and place it in a nearby mechanism. This will summon a second bridge, but you’ll notice that it also blocks the beam from the first device, which was powering up the second beam device.
Now, climb onto the newly summoned bridge, where you’ll find an upright wooden log. Interact with it to knock it down, creating a connection to the next platform. This will let you cross without needing the second bridge in place.
Now, cross over the wooden log and make your way back to the second mechanism where you placed the crystal. Remove the crystal, and you’ll notice that the beam from the first device is once again powering the second beam device.
Return to the second beam device using the wooden log, and interact with it. You’ll see another mechanism where you can direct the beam straight ahead. This will summon the Tattered Bridge, finally giving you access to the chest that was previously out of reach.
