Slitterhead has several twists and turns that help carry you through to the end of its convoluted and often aimless story, tossing more challenging encounters at you near the back quarter of its decently sized campaign. While most boss fights will still be samey, the moment-to-moment action is still exhilarating.

Over Limit is one of the better missions in the game, especially before things get even stranger than they already are, offering some fantastic moments that help elevate the threat of the Slitterheads and their ability to mimic humans. Despite following the same-ish formula as other missions, it pays off wonderfully with its pacing and encounters!
Starting Over Limit In Slitterhead
Alex is a locked character for the Over Limit mission in Slitterhead, meaning you can only choose the Companion. We chose Edo, as always, due to his incredible strength and Burning Edge Skill, which only amplifies that strength further. Julee will also work for this mission, as her Revive All Skill is always useful.
If you’re comfortable with another Rarity, you can choose them as well. We feel that Edo and Julee are the two best Rarities in the game, especially when paired with Alex and his ability to deal with tremendous amounts of damage. Everyone aside from Blake should be viable here, as you do not want too many range-based Rarities.
Defeat Lisa – Mimic Octopus Slitterhead
As soon as this mission starts, you will face off against Lisa – Mimic Octopus Slitterhead, having her let out a massive roar, imbuing everyone with a Poison Ward. This essentially inflicts you with the Poison Ailment, causing you to take slight damage periodically for a set period. It won’t be too bad, so don’t worry too much.
All in all, this encounter won’t be that challenging. Just possess people behind her, deliver a few attacks, and jump to someone else when she switches her focus to you. Alex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo will chunk her health. The same goes for Edo’s Burning Edge and Angel Step combo.
Lisa does have one move that you must keep an eye out for, and it’s when she flashes a bright red light before swiftly lunging forward with a grab. That flashing light indicates that the incoming move cannot be guarded against or parried, so get away from her the moment you see it. But aside from that, it’s a relatively straightforward encounter!
Chase Mysterious Woman
Defeating Lisa will trigger a brief cutscene, introducing a Mysterious Woman who will turn into a Slitterhead and flee from the scene, causing you to chase after her. She will leap onto the rooftops, having you use Blood Jump to follow closely behind her, where she will ultimately leap onto the large neon sign with a crown on it.
Use Blood Jump to reach the sign, then chase her further onto the rooftop to have her stop running and begin attacking you, kickstarting yet another encounter in the mission. You can use Burning Edge here to deal considerable damage, knocking her down to half health and having her transform into the Zebra Octopus Slitterhead.
Defeat Zebra Octopus Slitterhead
Upon transforming into the Zebra Octopus Slitterhead, she will let out a roar, inflicting you with the Corrosion Ward (Level 2), greatly reducing the durability of your Blood Weapon. Fortunately, that won’t matter too much, as you barely have to guard or parry during this encounter.
We recommend constantly getting behind the Slitterhead and attacking the dangling body, as it will stun it substantially faster and will allow you to deal tremendous amounts of damage in short bursts. Furthermore, utilizing Edo’s Burning Edge on either himself or Alex will enable you to finish her relatively quickly.
You’ve fought many Zebra Octopus Slitterheads in previous missions, and this one is no different, aside from the Corrosion Ward it places on you at the start of the encounter. Be aggressive, use your Skills, and constantly get behind it to defeat it swiftly!
Follow Lisa’s Presence
From here, Alex will pick up another trace of Lisa’s Presence, having you follow it down onto the main streets and then through the back alleys. This will ultimately bring you into the empty lot where you acquired Anita, so just head there to run into the Mysterious Man.
There will be a few lesser Slitterheads in the lot, alongside the Mysterious Man Slitterhead, making Alex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo a perfect way to deal with them. After using it the first time, heal up by holding R1/RB to absorb the blood from the ground, then wait for your Skills to recharge and do it once more to finish them off quickly.
Defeat Zebra Octopus Slitterhead
Yup, you read that correctly, the Mysterious Man also turns into a Zebra Octopus Slitterhead. However, this time, it places a Poison Ward (Level 2) on you, moderately damaging you over time. But, as you may have guessed, it won’t matter all that much as you can bully it just as you did last time.
Activate Burning Edge and begin spamming Angel Step to deal massive damage to the Zebra Octopus Slitterhead, stunning it quickly. As it’s stunned, don’t let up on the pressure, allowing you to defeat it in the blink of an eye. If you didn’t choose Edo, using Alex’s Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo will also work here, as well as getting behind it and targeting its dangling body.
It will have the same attacks as before, so you’re essentially applying the same strategy again to defeat it. This time, however, both of your Rarities will be available from the jump, making it even easier than it already was!
Chase Lisa
Taking down the Zebra Octopus Slitterhead for the second time will have Lisa appear yet again, forcing Alex to chase her down. You will chase her out onto the main street, where she will quickly begin making distance between you two. You must stay on top of her at all costs.
The moment Lisa gets too far away from you, a timer will appear on the screen, giving you less than a minute to track her down before failing the mission and having to reload the checkpoint. Use Bloody Well to pull her backward and use your Blood Weapon to lay into her, forcing her to run into the middle of the street.
Once she runs into the main street, she will summon a large group of Slitterheads in, forcing Alex to deal with them. Fortunately, his Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo will make quick work of them, allowing him to dispatch them with ease. From here, you will trigger another cutscene, leading to the final encounter.
Defeat Lisa – Mimic Octopus Slitterhead
And, sort of unsurprisingly, your final battle in this mission is against Lisa – Mimic Octopus Slitterhead. Again. And, as if you haven’t guessed already, it’s the same encounter from the start of the mission. However, this time, she will place the Poison Ward (Level 2) on you instead of a Level 1 Ward, so that’s… something.
You know what to do here. Activate Burning Edge and go berserk with Angel Steps, unleashing a devastating amount of damage on her in mere seconds, stunning her off the rip, allowing you to keep up your offensive onslaught. Once she recovers, switch to Alex and use his Blood Well and Bloody Blast combo to finish her off.
We wish this encounter were different, but it sadly isn’t, so apply the same strategy you did earlier, and you will have her taken down in no time!
Over Limit Rewards
Lastly, let’s go over what you get for clearing Over Limit for the first time in Slitterhead. 24 Skill Tokens will be yours, allowing you to power up any Rarity you wish. Keep in mind that they are shared, so once you spend them they cannot be used on another Rarity.
Furthermore, more ‘Talk’ options will become available upon completing the mission, so ensure you listen to all the new conversations before doing anything else!
