Destiny 2’s Revenant Act 2 Artifact Perks Take One Weapon to New Heights

Destiny 2's Revenant Act 2 Artifact Perks Take One Weapon to New Heights

Destiny 2 is currently going through a grenade launcher meta with Episode Revenant’s Artifact perks offering several buffs for Grenade Launchers, which is understandable, considering the new Exotic from the current Season Pass is a grenade launcher. However, while now’s a great time to use the new Alethonym Exotic, it’s also a great time to use the Ex Diris Exotic grenade launcher, since it will be stronger than it’s ever been once Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant Act two releases.

When it was first introduced, the Ex Diris arguably wasn’t that great of a weapon compared to some of the best-in-slot Exotics in Destiny 2. However, with some of the recent Exotic weapon changes combined with the upcoming Artifact Perks, this weapon will soon be in its prime, so players may want to put this hidden gem on their builds throughout the remainder of Episode Revenant.

Destiny 2’s new Rake Angle Stasis glaive is a great weapon to add to one’s collection, especially if players pursue one unique roll.

Not only does Episode Revenant’s Artifact perks make grenade launchers anti-Champion weapons in Destiny 2 for the current Episode, but they also provide plenty of outright buffs for these weapons, making grenade launchers the current meta. Yet, while grenade launchers are already in a great spot, the upcoming second Act of Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant will introduce even more Artifact perks that will buff grenade launchers even further.

Why Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant Act Two Is a Great Time to Use the Ex Diris Exotic Grenade Launcher

While the existing Artifact perks in Episode Revenant can typically make any grenade launcher into a powerful weapon, the Ex Diris Exotic is an Arc grenade launcher that can naturally Blind enemies, so it will be especially powerful when paired with the new Arc Compounding Artifact perk. This weapon didn’t quite shift the meta when it was first introduced, although the current and upcoming Episode Revenant Artifact perks combined with some of the recent Exotic weapon changes to the Ex Diris will take this weapon to the next level.

Players who didn’t obtain the Ex Diris during Season of the Witch can purchase the weapon from the Monument to Lost Lights at the Tower.

Destiny 2’s Ex Diris Exotic Weapon Changes Explained

  • Increased ammo reserves
  • Increased direct hit damage
  • Projectiles’ behavior was changed to benefit from increased velocity and decreased gravity
  • Rapid direct hits can now spawn Loyal Moths
  • Reduced camera recoil while firing

Overall, these recent changes make the Ex Diris a much more versatile Exotic. Specifically, the new alternate way of spawning Loyal Moths finally makes the weapon viable to use against major enemies and bosses instead of strictly as an add-clear weapon, since previously the weapon required players to get kills to spawn Loyal Moths.

On their own, the recent Exotic weapon changes are enough to finally make the Ex Diris a viable Exotic in Destiny 2’s endgame content, whether it’s PvP or PvE, and soon the added buffs from the Episode Revenant Artifact perks will make this weapon the strongest it’s ever been. Overall, what was already a great weapon will finally be in its prime, so players should consider slotting this weapon into their loadouts once Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant Act two launches.
