Exotic missions have become a fan favorite activity, offering a unique mission that ultimately lead to a highly sought after weapon. Thankfully, Bungie has found a way to bring these missions back for fans who may have missed them using Destiny 2‘s exotic mission rotator, cycling through a set list each week. Destiny 2 Officially Reveals Street Fighter Collaboration
Bungie officially reveals a new Destiny 2 collaboration with Capcom’s Street Fighter 6, bringing new content based on the world warriors to the game.
Before signing off on Bungie’s November 12 livestream for Destiny 2, the team had one more surprise to share. Confirming that there wouldn’t be an Episode Revenant livestream for Act 3 due to the holiday season, social media manager Andy Salisbury and associate weapons designer Taylor Bjorndahl teased one particular reveal early. Launching alongside Act 3, players will be able to check out a new exotic quest, which has direct ties to the Episode’s narrative, ultimately leading to a new void powered shotgun.
Destiny 2 Adding Exotic Shotgun Called Slayer’s Fang
The Act 2 livestream also gave fans plenty of details regarding the shotgun, which was confirmed to be called Slayer’s Fang. As part of the slug shotgun family, which includes the Destiny 2 exotic Chaperone, Slayer’s Fang fires a single slug round that shatters into a burst of rounds when it hits a target or surface. Getting a kill with the weapon grants the player True Sight to see enemies through walls for a short period of time, and simply hitting a target will apply weaken and will make the slug rounds smarter in how they track the target, according to Bungie. However, the reload animation is also incredibly unique, as the player loads a void crystal which completely refills the weapon.
As expected, players will be able to craft this weapon once it is unlocked, following a similar pattern for previous weapons tied to a Destiny 2 exotic quest like Wish-Keeper and Choir of One. Dataminers have already gotten to work, seemingly uncovering 4 catalysts that can also be unlocked for Repulsor Brace, Stats for All, Cascade Point, and Loose Change. However, with the gun not officially detailed yet, fans should take the details with a grain of salt as things could be tweaked between now and Act 3.
