Black Ops 6 May Be Getting Halo, Doom, And Gear Of War Crossover

Key Takeaways

  • Microsoft could bring Halo, Gears of War, and Doom characters to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
  • Microsoft’s purchase of Activision may lead to more crossovers and boost the game.

Over the years, Activision has been no stranger to bringing different IP and real-world figures to the Call of Duty franchise. Warzone alone has featured crossovers with Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and, weirdly, Football and NBA players.

What on earth happened here?

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 now available, attention has turned to the series’ latest title. A new rumor suggests that characters from three huge Microsoft titles—Halo, Gears of War, and Doom—could be making their way to the game.

This is just a rumor at this point, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Three Microsoft Titles Could Be Crossing Over With Call Of Duty

It was only a matter of time before Microsoft really started to throw its weight around behind its $68 billion purchase of Activision. Bringing the latest title to Xbox Game Pass was the first major step, and it was a successful one. Analysts predicted the move could add as many as four million new subscribers to the service, and Microsoft later confirmed Black Ops 6 was the “Biggest Call of Duty release ever.” It looks like, beyond the Game Pass addition, Microsoft could also be about to leverage some of its biggest properties to boost the title even further.

The rumor started as Twitter user VondyIsPog tweeted an image of Master Chief and Doomguy, with #BlackOps6 attached. This was then corroborated by prominent leaker and podcaster Shpeshal Nick, who said that he’d heard similar.

Nick reports that Master Chief could have initially been due to arrive in Modern Warfare 3; however, he was later pushed back for Black Ops 6, which is where he will reportedly join Marcus Fenix and Doomguy on the roster.

If the rumor were true, it wouldn’t be the first time that the Halo protagonist had stepped foot on PlayStation consoles, as, back in 2020, Master Chief made his way to Fortnite on every console.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.

In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
