All Ranking Solutions

The talent show rankings in Rise of the Golden Idol.

This scenario is one of the harder ones in the game, and this is evident from the off. There’s little in the way of useful dialogue to go off, and much must be deduced from visual investigation.

This panel has you placing the six contestants in rank order.

  • Some people are wearing medals, that’s a good place to start.
  • If it wasn’t clear to you already, there are elements of sabotage in this competition. Might this have been successful? The cameraman’s notes can point you in the right direction here.
  • In regards to sabotage and acts, don’t forget to check people’s possessions.
  • Outfits and props can help you identify people and will be helpful for naming them later.
  • The yellow sign at the top of the screen shows you the final ranking but uses their act names. Many of these will clue you in to the acts themselves, especially the one that seems to have changed names at the last second.
  • A person who changes their act doesn’t necessarily adopt a new title.

All Name Solutions

The past talent show winners in Rise of the Golden Idol.

As has been the case for many scenarios now, there are eight names to slot into the right places here.

  • A list of every contestant can be found on the host. It also has a running order, which might help retroactively with the placements if you tackle that second.
  • As ever, some people are using other people’s names in dialogue, and these are quite obvious regarding their position in this scenario.
  • A past winner seems likely to win. If they competed and lost, might there be a reason? Might there be a negative reaction?
  • Sabotage can also be relevant here.
  • The man with an exposed chest is showing off a rather striking tattoo. Take a close look at it and keep sabotage in mind.
  • A lot of the people here mention ‘Lily’. She’s not a contestant, though. Who is Lily?
  • The host’s name is spelt out in full; you just need to find it.
  • The cameraman’s last name is not spoken, but you can find it in a pretty reasonable place.

All Event Solutions

The ventriloquist shouting in Rise of the Golden Idol.

You’ll need to make some pretty large leaps of logic to make this scenario make sense in your head.

  • Sabotage is obviously rife, but the word ‘retaliation‘ is used within the Events panel. Can you think of a pairing who would have grief?
  • The tattoo you can spy seems to be covering up an older tattoo. Why might this be?
  • Two acts of sabotage have similar results, but there are multiple possible sources of these results. Think hard about who and why.
