lol. lap it up. yum yum yum. whatever they spoon feed you. next thing you know they’ll say its a wild success like psvr2 and the portal which have sold a tiny fraction to the compatible ps5 base (literally 0.62% as of right now in the case of the portal and 0.75% on psvr2 – which btw I own and feel totally abandoned on)
reality is, not many people wants to spend $700 on a console that is still a gen9 ps5. even if they updated it to RDNA 3, they still couldn’t use it without having to build completely special, custom versions of ps5 pro games, which nobody is going to do considering that would add significant development costs. I have plenty of disposable income and could buy one right now if I wanted to (its in stock at the shop a mile away from me), but after buying both mid gen consoles last round, I swore I’d never do it again bc the gains are just too small. they aren’t next gen equivalents – even less so with gen 9.
the only people I really see being hot for this are like Sony diehards. if it was blasting out significant differences I’d pick it up, but im not seeing that at all and the reviews verify that. If anything, this release just frustrates me more with consoles and pushes me toward pc.
remember this comment when Sony suddenly starts failing to report ps5 pro numbers in addition to portal and psvr2… while still proudly blasting ps5 numbers routinely. pretty sus to me.
