A Flipped New Opening Theme

It was also revealed that the opening theme is titled “L’oN”, performed by Masayoshi Ōishi. The title is a reference to the season one opening theme, “No. 7” (“L’oN’ is supposed to look like an upside-down version of “No. 7”). The second season features a returning cast and main staff.

Wishes and Hanako-kun

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is set in the fictitious Kamome Academy, famous for the rumors about supernatural incidents and the Seven Wonders. One of the wonders regards Hanako-san of the Toilet, the academy’s version of a famous Japanese urban legend regarding a spirit (Hanako-san, supposedly a girl) haunting the girls’ restroom, who would grant wishes for a price.

Nene Yashiro, one of the students, is not very lucky in love, and she tries to summon Hanako-san in order to wish for a boyfriend. Then she discovers Hanako is very different from the legend… to start with, Hanako is a boy! And he also refuses to grant her wish! Nene ends up spiritually bound to Hanako-kun, becoming his assistant in supernatural events. Soon they meet Kou Minamoto, who is trying to exorcise all the Seven Wonders.

Hanako-kun is a manga by duo AidaIro, serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly GFantasy since 2015, with 22 volumes so far. Yen Press licenses it in the US. The After-School Hanako-kun spinoff is also penned by the creators and has been running in Pixiv Comic (under PFantapy imprint) since 2018, with 2 volumes so far. It is also published in the US by Yen Press.
