Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been received pretty well. BioWare was in desperate need for a win after Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem proved to be less than satisfactory. While it’s a departure from the gameplay of previous Dragon Age games, The Veilguard’s combat mechanics and overall story have been appreciated by fans.

Every once in a while, The Veilguard gives you a massive dose of unbridled power.
However, BioWare is still missing the interpersonal relationships and character interactions that made the studio so beloved. While fans love the game, many have criticised the bland romance options and even just regular conversations with NPCs. However, it seems there is one ray of hope in the romance department, the gentleman necromancer, Emmrich.
It’s Not Just Skeletons That Emmrich Can Raise
Among your colourful group of rag-tag companions is Emmrich. A gentleman first and foremost, the necromancer has a way with words that’s smoother than the skulls of the skeletons he reanimates. He dresses sharp, is always courteous, and that pencil moustache reminds us of Gomez Addams in all the right ways.
It seems that a lot of Dragon Age: The Veilguard feel this way. It seems he’s so good at flirting that he seems way out of Rook’s league. “Yeah I played a mourn watcher and we truly matched each other’s freaks,” said one comment. “We were both fangirling over a dead body and my rook was thinking “I need this man in my bed like, yesterday.”
“Rook is canonically kind of an awkward dork and I love it. She’s lucky she’s young and hot, because I absolutely agree. This old man is smooth as hell,” said another. It seems that the writers paid way more attention to Emmrich’s romance dialogue than any of the other companions, including Rook too.
Unfortunately, Emmrich is one of the last companions you can recruit to your party, so you’re going to have to wait for him. But trust us, he’s worth it. Not only is he handsome, but you know he has experience with bodies – and we don’t mean the ones he reanimates.
Speaking of romance, it seems some Veilguard players want the option to romance NPCs outside of the party. The Viper, Teia, Evka, Antoine, Felassan, Irelin, and even Solas, all made the list of NPC romance hopefuls for players. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t allow you to romance just about anyone, so we’ll settle for the Emmrich.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the long-awaited fourth game in the fantasy RPG series from BioWare formerly known as Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. A direct sequel to Inquisition, it focuses on red lyrium and Solas, the aforementioned Dread Wolf.
