The Honkai: Star Rail community is notorious for leaks that are right on target. If leakers are correct about this new alleged NPC, Honkai: Star Rail may be expanding its multiverse further.
As one of the main settings in Honkai: Star Rail, the Astral Express is already home to plenty of characters. Three of them are NPCs – Mag, Messenger, and conductor Pom-Pom. However, this new leak from prominent HoYoverse leaker HomDGCat suggests that information and references to previous installments in the Honkai franchise could be brought into play. As a new take on the multiverse, Honkai: Star Rail has referenced its predecessors previously, making this move plausible.

As Honkai: Star Rail continues to grow, HoYoverse does a great job paying homage to its other titles with character references between games.
Previous References in Honkai: Star Rail
One of the key ways that Star Rail has introduced aspects of the Honkai franchise into its world is through its characters. Fans of the franchise have been quick to recognize when characters are referencing or are directly emulating characters from Honkai’s previous games.
For example, Welt, another character on the Astral Express, has been confirmed to be the same version of Welt that appears in Honkai: Impact 3rd. This is indicated through his art and light cones, which depict his wife, Welt Joyce. Both Himeko and Welt mention Void Archive, an integral aspect of Impact 3rd’s lore.
Rather than being the same canonical character, some Star Rail cast members share similar names, designs, or skill sets as cast members in previous installments. For example, Seele has a similar appearance and personality traits to her Impact 3rd counterpart, Seele Vollerei. Additionally, two of Bronya’s forms in Impact 3rd, Haxxor Bunny and Silverwing, have counterparts in Star Rail as Silver Wolf and Bronya, respectively.
A leak in late October from prominent Honkai: Star Rail leakers Cleo and Seele suggests that one of Star Rail’s next characters may fit in this second camp yet again. Flirtatious Impact 3rd fan favorite Kevin Kaslana may be returning to the Honkai franchise as Bayer in Star Rail. The alleged images of Bayer hold a startling resemblance to Kevin Kaslana with the same hairstyle, outfit, and other details.
With such a
recent leak alleging that
Star Rail
is making an effort to further connections between itself and previous game installments, this latest leak seems even more plausible.
Shush Could Change Star Rail’s Lore
The aforementioned leaks from HomDGCat allege that Honkai: Star Rail’s next NPC will be aboard the Astral Express. “Shush,” a robot attendant, will reportedly be stationed in what was once the Astral Express’ “Meeting Car.” The robot now works as the bartender and attendant of the “Party Car,” which features a bar, cafeteria, and board games. Though the leaks did not say when Shush would be added to Star Rail, an interesting tidbit of lore was dropped. If true, Shush was created by the Void Archive after being kicked off the Astral Express and acted as a messenger for Void Archive’s apology before devoting himself to service aboard the train.
If these leaks prove to be true, Shush will serve as another major tie between Impact 3rd and Star Rail. This may set up Void Archive, a major player in Impact 3rd’s “Post-Honkai Odyssey,” as a potential addition to Honkai: Star Rail. This is especially true if Shush’s backstory is accurate, as the lore will confirm Void Archive’s existence in Star Rail yet again. Indeed, it’s only a matter of time before Void Archive makes an appearance.
Shush has yet to be confirmed by HoYoverse or any members of the Honkai: Star Rail team. Until this likely, lovable robot is added to the game, fans can continue to comb over Honkai: Star Rail for more Honkai: Impact 3rd Easter eggs.
