Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader‘s first DLC, Void Shadows, takes a unique spin on expanding the world of Rogue Trader. Instead of new planets or even a new sector of the galaxy, in Void Shadows, the Lord Captain can delve into the depths of his own Voidship, discovering how his subordinates spend their days.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – How To Find The Blood Spinners’ Temple
Become the Flagship’s Blood by passing the Death Cult’s test in Rogue Trader’s Void Shadows DLC.
As well as an enemy lurking in the vessel, you’ll have to defeat the Genestealer Cults, aided by a brand new companion, Kibellah, a Death Cult Assassin. The Void Shadows expansion also brings new quests, crew members and, of course, locations – not just one, but seven of them. Here’s what you can expect.
7
Temple Of The Bloodspun Web
Of course, the best new location is the “home” of the new companion, Kibellah, as well as the secret organization of assassins living on your ship – but shh, don’t tell that to anyone!
However, the Temple of the Bloodspun Web is a very important location in Void Shadows, and while Kibellah can’t tell you where it is, the leader would like to talk to you – and you can find some clues left around your Voidship.
While we won’t tell you where it is, we can assure you that the Temple of the Bloodspun Web is peak 40k, with statues, chandeliers and thousands of candles – as well as fountains of blood. If we didn’t know Kibellah and co. were loyal to the God-Emperor, we’d think they are Khorne worshippers.
6
Astropathic Chapel
Another very interesting nook of the von Valancius Voidship is the Astropathic Chapel. While there is not much to do here outside of a few sidequests, it’s a great glimpse into the workings of 40k. This is a hub for the psykers of the Voidship who help with the communications throughout the universe by tapping into the warp – the literal hell of the setting.

The quest available here, the Haunting of Zacchary Weisz, is a great callback to some horror movies – especially around Halloween – and the soundtrack of this new location is just superb, possibly one of the best in the entire game, base and DLC combined.
5
Voidship Shrine
The first location of the Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader DLC, the Voidship Shrine is a place filled with holy artifacts – and some puzzles where you have to use your companions to activate some pressure plates. As with the previous areas, you can also find some nice Imperial architecture as well.
This area is very important in terms of the Void Shadows storyline, as this is the spot you meet Initiate Ziek, an NPC that you won’t be able to find again if you progress too much in your quests. The Voidship Shrine is also the place where you can cure your rash in the quest of the same name, so this is an area you’ll have to visit multiple times.
4
Voidship Crypt
While we knew that a Rogue Trader’s Voidship is huge – as Void Shadows is an expansion dedicated to exploring one to the fullest of our abilities – the Voidship Crypt gives a better perspective on the vastness of it all. Onboard our spaceship is an entire cemetery, filled with tombs and sarcophagi.
This is also an important location regarding the main enemy of Void Shadows, the Genestealer Cults – this is one of their hideouts, and you can actually run into some trouble based on some previous decisions, so keep an eye out for suspicious, four-armed members of the crew.
3
Freight Lines
While not as epic as the locations before, the Freight Lines plays an important role as a connector between the different parts of the Lord Captain’s vessel. It also serves as a hub for the people living on the Voidship, as well as a battlefield later down the line.
These are also the bowels of your ship, which are interesting to look into – while adorned with skulls, biovats and other scraps. Here, you can interact with the population of your means of intergalactic transportation, talk to the Foreman and the Enforcer keeping the peace. There are also literal trains running through it, giving you a perspective of the size of your ship.
You can also literally get sick in this area, but worry not, as there’s a particular Shrine you can pray and cleanse yourself.
2
Officer’s Deck
This is the part of your Voidship where all the navy officers gather to discuss the events of your adventures. There are multiple quests accessible from here, as well as some puzzles, but this part of Void Shadows just further adds life to your ship.
While the Freight Lines are for the “commoners” of the von Valancius Voidship, this part is for those who hold office – as given away by the name. Of course, we can find all kinds of Imperial insignia among the mechanical parts of the Deck, showing us that we are still in the Koronus Expanse after all.
1
Plasma Drive Chambers
Last but not least is of the new Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader DLC areas is the Plasma Drive Chambers. This is basically an engine room filled to the brim with plasma coils similar to the ones found on many Warhammer 40k figures plasma guns.
These Chambers are one of the main power source for your voidships, so it’s a hub for engineers and other technicians working on keeping everything up and running.
