There’s a new mystery unfolding within the Magic: The Gathering community as Reckless Detectives scurry to find a missing card in the new Foundations Jumpstart set.
For whatever reason, a card with the collector number 350 is absent. Sandwiched between Remand (349) and Screaming Swarm (351), the missing card must be blue, and begins with either an R or an S, narrowing down the window of candidates significantly. But that’s still a huge pool of cards to choose from.
Foundations Jumpstart is a mix of new cards and reprints, and the third full Jumpstart set. The idea is to take two booster packs, smash them together, and have a playable deck.
Our own Tabletop Editor Joe Parlock theorises that it could be Rhystic Study or Resculpt, both of which cropped up in the below thread. Players speculate that Wizards of the Coast decided against including Rhystic Study last minute because it appears in every other Jumpstart set, or that Resculpt may have been veto’d because it is often considered by Magic designers to be too powerful and far outside what blue cards can normally do.
Wizards may have also been attempting to avoid an unfair combo with other cards in the set, given that this is meant to be a welcoming booster for newcomers. One Reddit commenter suggested it could be Retraction Helix, which would infinitely combo with one of the new cards in the set, Dionus, Elvish Archdruid.
