Elon Musk Diablo 4 Account Drops From Top 20 After Trump Win

Key Takeaways

  • Elon Musk claimed last week that he was a top 20 player in Diablo 4. He isn’t.
  • He was in the top 20 of an unofficial leaderbaord with a tiny sample size of just over 1,000 players.
  • After Trump won the election, he dropped out of even that.

Last week, Elon Musk claimed on Joe Rogan’s podcast that he was one of the top 20 players in the world playing Diablo 4. That’s not true.

An account supposedly belonging to Musk was in the top 20 on an unofficial leaderboard called Helltides.com, of which there are 1,000 players. That’s a tiny sample size considering that millions of people play Diablo 4. But even among that fraction of players, he is no longer in the top 20.

As reported by Forbes, Musk dropped to the 36th position on Helltides’ Pit 150 list after Donald Trump won the election.

Is This Even Elon Musk?

Elon Musk himself claimed that he was in the top 20, Helltide’s co-owner said that he believes Musk is telling the truth, and the account which held that spot goes under Musk’s name. It looks like a cut and dry case. But there’s been some debate about whether Musk played fair.

Said co-owner admitted that “there’s no way for us to know about Pit runs that aren’t recorded and shared”.

Some believe that he may have used exploits or paid other players to get him better gear, which is certainly plausible. As Forbes reports, several top members of the Pit 150 list on Helltide have been accused of increasing the stats of their gear beyond their limits. And none have Musk’s means.

That’s not to mention that Musk was ridiculed after sharing his awful Elden Ring build back in 2022, using two shields, two swords, a staff, and heavy armour, making him too encumbered to roll. Maybe he’s just better at Diablo 4, but looking at that bizarre mage setup, probably not. At any rate, he’s dropping down the rankings of a very small leaderboard, proving once again that his claims of being one of the best Diablo 4 players in the world is blatantly untrue.
