Click on the staff member you want to hire and place them on the ground. Each staff member in Planet Coaster 2 is different, so make sure you’re hiring the right person for your park.
How to Manage Staff in Planet Coaster 2
Once you hire a new staff member, they will immediately start to look for work. If there is work available that matches their expertise, they will automatically start pitching in. For example, if you’ve got an unattended pool in your park, hiring a Lifeguard will automatically assign them to it.
You can also manually assign staff members to specific tasks. To do that, you’ll have to click on the ride/facility to which you want to assign them and then go to the Staff option. Click on the Staff Picker tool to assign a staff member for the specific building.
Additionally, you also have the option to set the salary for your employees. Go to the Park Management menu and select the Staff option. A new window will show you all the staff members you currently have. Click on the Salary Range to switch between Low, Fair, and High Pay.
Setting the salary to Low Pay will cause them to lose morale quickly and eventually quit working.
Your staff members’ morale is also shown on this menu. The game has five Morale levels: Miserable, Unhappy, Content, Happy, and Very Happy. Ideally, you’ll want all your employees to be Happy, but Content is also acceptable. If the Morale is at Miserable for more than two days, the employee will quit working for you.
The Status Column in this window shows you what your employees are doing at the moment. You can click the Schedule button here to set a custom schedule for each employee. Clicking the Fire button will set their status to Leaving the Park.
How to Raise Morale in Planet Coaster 2
Keeping track of your staff members’ morale and making sure they are content with their jobs is essential to keep your operations running smoothly. If your employees aren’t getting enough breaks, or if the pay is set to Low Pay all the time, they’ll eventually lose interest and quit the job. That means you’ll have to hire a new staff member to replace them.
The first thing you need to do is ensure there are enough staff facilities around your park so your employees can relax during their breaks. You can build three types of Staff Facilities, each handling a different number of staff members.
Facility Name |
Staff Occupancy |
---|---|
Staff Facilities Small |
4 Staff Members maximum |
Staff Facilities Medium |
8 Staff Members maximum |
Staff Facilities Large |
16 Staff Members maximum |
You also want to ensure you’re paying your employees fair wages. Low Pay is fine for a couple of days, but you don’t want to use it as a permanent option since it will quickly lower morale. Also, give your employees at least one or two breaks during their work schedule. You can check this in the Park Management menu.
If your employees are not getting enough breaks, consider setting their Salary to High Pay until you can hire new workers.
Planet Coaster 2 takes the management side of the game seriously. As you progress through the game, expanding and increasing your park rating as you go, you’ll naturally end up with many employees. Keeping track of their morale and making sure they are happy with their job will prevent any of them from suddenly quitting on you.
