Teamfight Tactics Into the Arcane’s Exclusive Characters Explained

Teamfight Tactics Into the Arcane's Exclusive Characters Explained

Teamfight Tactics is fully diving into the Arcane universe with its upcoming set, aptly named “Into the Arcane.” The Riot Games auto-battler has already featured characters from the award-winning series back in 2021, but this will be the first time that Teamfight Tactics will fully lean into it with the release of Arcane season 2.

Dubbed by Riot as “the most Arcane set ever,” the Teamfight Tactics developers wanted to create an immersive experience that blends strategic gameplay and rich storytelling. Peter Whalen, game director of Teamfight Tactics, said that the team set out to capture the essence of the show, allowing players to create their own versions of Arcane‘s story in each game, especially with the 10 exclusive Into the Arcane champions.

In previous sets, Teamfight Tactics has included exclusive champions like Inkborn Fable’s Kabuko and Arcane‘s Silco in Gizmos and Gadgets and Runeterra Reforged. This is Riot’s way of expanding League of Legends‘ universe through the popular auto-battler, as well as creating new characters without depending on the current roster of champions.

With Into the Arcane, Teamfight Tactics created its biggest pool of exclusive characters to date, including characters from Arcane‘s first and second seasons, like Powder, Vander, Sevika, and Smeech. Whalen called this set a type of “fan fiction,” where players can build the teams they want without worrying about spoilers. More importantly, the champions’ traits and abilities are similar to how they’re presented in Arcane. Likewise, Into the Arcane will showcase the comeback of Silco and the Teamfight Tactics debut of new League of Legends champion Ambessa.

Teamfight Tactics: Into the Arcane Exclusive Characters

Family: Mostly made up of Arcane season one’s beloved Zaunite family, consisting of siblings Powder and Violet, and their adoptive father, Vander.

  • Powder: Also known as young Jinx, Powder sends a wind-up monkey towards the largest group of enemies and explodes on impact. The monkey can burn and wound enemies, which will reduce their healing.
  • Violet: Known as young Vi, Violet is an offensive frontliner that jabs and uppercuts enemies.
  • Vander: The former leader and protector of Zaun gains Attack Damage (AD) for each 1 or 2-cost champion in a team, giving him more power for his empowered attacks.

Powder and Violet can be played alongside their older selves, Jinx and Vi, as they share traits with them.

Enforcer: The members of Caitlyn’s strike team are introduced in Arcane season 2.

  • Maddie: Fires six shots towards the farthest enemy, dealing additional physical damage to the first enemy she hits.
  • Loris: Nicknamed “The Shield of Piltover,” he is a tanky frontliner that gains an AP (ability power) Shield that can redirect a percentage of damage taken by adjacent allies for a short time.
  • Steb: He can passively heal two allies closest to him. He can also heal himself while dealing magic damage to enemies.

Chem-Baron: They are a coalition of landlords, crime bosses, factory owners, and corporate tycoons working together to maintain order in Zaun.

  • Smeech: This wild Yordle leaps towards the enemy with the fewest items and slashes them. If they die, he jumps to the next enemy.
  • Renni: She is an offensive tank who deals damage and raises targets in the air, stunning them and slamming them down to deal additional damage to adjacent enemies.
  • Sevika: Silco’s right-hand woman makes her debut with a new mechanical arm that has three types of attacks: Flamethrower, Extendo-Punch, and Chomp.

Firelight: A group of Zaunites led by Ekko dedicated to destroying Silco’s Shimmer operation.

  • Scar: The masked Firelight member lobs bombs at the nearest three enemies, which stuns and deals magic damage to them.
