Teamfight Tactics Into the Arcane Traits Explained

Teamfight Tactics Into the Arcane Traits Explained

When creating an Arcane-themed Teamfight Tactics set, Riot Games made sure that each design and gameplay element builds upon the series’ universe. This is exactly what they did with the 13th Teamfight Tactics set, called “Into the Arcane,” which is a so-called “fan fiction” version of Arcane that allows players to build teams and craft their own stories through a variety of traits and characters.

This will be the first time that Teamfight Tactics fully leans into the Arcane universe, despite including characters like Silco in previous sets. Into the Arcane’s lead set designer Shawn Elizabeth Main noted that they wanted to “deliver a fresh and immersive experience for players, blending strategic gameplay with the rich storytelling of Arcane.” This includes exclusive characters from Arcane‘s two seasons, cosmetics and maps inspired by the show, and of course, traits that highlight certain lore elements.

Although Riot Games and Fortiche Production have declared Arcane Season 2 the final season, this statement doesn’t have to be set in stone.

Set name

Into the Arcane (Set 13)

Release date

November 20, 2024

For Into the Arcane, Teamfight Tactics developers made sure to include champions and traits that match the source material. Although the set is meant to pay homage to Arcane in time for the premiere of the second season, it’s still mostly a spoiler-free rendition. Teamfight Tactics game director Peter Whalen said that this set allows players to create their own versions of Arcane‘s story in each game, which hints at the unique synergies they could cook up using the new traits.

Family

This trait pertains to the family of siblings Powder and Violet, and their adoptive father, Vander. Members provide mutual support by reducing Mana usage and giving each other extra bonuses.

Enforcer

Enforcers are mostly made up of Caitlyn’s strike team from Arcane season two, who are tasked with hunting down Jinx and dismantling Shimmer in Zaun. When activated, Enforcers start combat with shields and damage amplification. The enemy with the highest HP becomes “Wanted,” and Enforcers gain Attack Speed boosts if they defeat them.

Chem-Barons lead coalitions of crime bosses, factory owners, and tycoons to ensure peace among Zaunites. Units gain stacks of Shimmer after each player combat, and they gain more if the player’s loss streak is at least three. Every stack of 100 Shimmer opens a Black Market that offers contraband that only Chem-Barons can use.

Firelight

This rebel group led by Ekko is dedicated to hunting down and destroying Silco’s Shimmer operation in Zaun. When active, this trait allows Firelight units to dash every six seconds, attack at infinite range, and heal a percentage of damage.

Black Rose

The Black Rose is a brand-new group introduced in the first three episodes of Arcane season two. In League of Legends lore, they are a secret Noxian faction led by LeBlanc. As a Teamfight Tactics trait, Black Rose summons a chained Sion, who is freed after five casts from units or when he drops below 65% health. Sion also gets stronger depending on the trait’s level and the Star level of Black Rose units.
