Who is Nil in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered?

Since eliminating bandits has no repercussions from the game’s major tribes, they make easy targets for him.

Fight Nil or Walk Away in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Once all the bandit camps are liberated, Nil will ask Aloy for a duel. This is one choice to consider carefully, as it has a small impact on the game’s final two missions.
If you choose to fight Nil, Aloy will kill him, and you won’t encounter him again. If you decline, Nil will be disappointed but will leave peacefully. Later, during the main mission “The Looming Shadow,” Nil reappears, fighting alongside Aloy against Eclipse soldiers.

Although the game doesn’t confirm this directly, Nil does reappear in Horizon Forbidden West, suggesting that sparing him aligns with Aloy’s intended journey. So, if you’re invested in staying true to her story, it’s best to let him live.
