One Bethesda Series Above All Others Would Be Perfect for a LEGO Game

One of Bethesda’s long-running franchises could serve as an unexpected but highly useful inspiration for the next LEGO spin-off title. LEGO has left an increasingly large footprint on the gaming industry, comprising original titles as well as spin-offs of other series. At the same time, Bethesda has created some of the biggest RPGs in the industry. While the two tend to aim in entirely different directions, there is still a lot of potential for both to come together to create something new. In fact, Bethesda has one series that could make a surprisingly seamless transition to LEGO‘s signature style.

The upcoming and ambitious LEGO Horizon Adventures is only among the latest in LEGO‘s excursions regarding video games. While the toy giant has a habit of collaborating with major franchises, it has made significant inroads in recent years with some of the biggest names in gaming. There are already Super Mario Bros. LEGO sets, and Fortnite even added an entirely new mode with LEGO Fortnite. With so much momentum, and so many more possibilities, it’s unlikely that LEGO‘s gaming crossovers will come to a halt anytime soon. In fact, the real question is likely what big franchise the company will team up with next.

A LEGO Fallout Game Could Prove to Be an Unusual, But Effective Combination

Fallout and LEGO are Surprisingly Compatible With Each Other

Even though the next Fallout game’s release is a total mystery, the series has a surprising amount of compatibility with LEGO. While the Fallout series is more adult than LEGO‘s typical fare, a few fundamental aspects still point towards crossover potential. Many settlements and areas in the Fallout series are at least in part cobbled together from scrap materials, much like a structure made of miscellaneous LEGO blocks.

The
Fallout
universe also has impressive monsters such as Super Mutant and Deathclaws that would probably look very cool in
LEGO
form.

Fallout’s Crafting Mechanics Are a Good Fit For LEGO

Another key factor is Fallout‘s history of crafting mechanics. One prime example of this would be Fallout 4, which lets players not only outfit their weapons with several add-ons but create entire settlements as well. Fallout‘s crafting mechanics alone could form the base for a LEGO Fallout game, letting players build up their own settlement from scratch. Ironically, LEGO Fortnite already works with some of these ideas thanks to its own take on Fortnite‘s building mechanic.

Fallout Could Inspire a Variety of Cool LEGO Sets

In addition to video games, the potential for LEGO sets based on Fallout is immense. As previously mentioned, the series has iconic enemies like Deathclaws that could make for impressive builds. However, an even bigger asset could be the Fallout series’ iconic power armor. Power armor is instantly recognizable, and feels like a perfect inspiration for a kit that would let players build their own. Players could even customize their power armor kits by swapping pieces with other models, and that doesn’t even get into unique creations like Securitrons or Mr. Handys.

It may sound far-fetched, but Fallout would have a lot to offer as LEGO‘s next big gaming crossover. The series is still highly popular, and the setting is creative enough for developers to have a field day with. In addition, the existing crafting elements in the series could be expanded on greatly in a LEGO spin-off, letting players go wild with creating their own corner of the Fallout universe. If Bethesda and LEGO collaborate, it could lead to a potentially huge new project with a LEGO rendition of Fallout
