Stone and copper tools will only get you so far in Sengoku Dynasty. If you want to equip your villagers with quality gear, and your soldiers with proper armaments, you’re going to need to learn how to smelt bronze. Luckily, the process is fairly simple – if a bit resource-intensive.
Since bronze takes a lot of time and effort to make early in the game, it’s a good idea to start production early. That way, when you unlock blueprints for equipment that uses this shiny metal, you’ll have plenty of ingots lying around and can get smithing right away.
How To Build A Smelter In Sengoku Dynasty
To make bronze, you’ll need to construct a smelter in one of your village’s buildings. If you’ve built a Workshop with the standard layout, there’s a perfect spot for a smelter between the crafting bench and the general storage. Of course, the location of your first smelter is up to you, as long as it’s indoors.
A smelter requires one log of any kind and ten units of clay. The log is easy enough to find – just chop down any tree or dig up a stump with a shovel. For the clay, you’ll need to make a copper pickax and head to the nearest river to mine some.

How To Use A Smelter To Make Bronze In Sengoku Dynasty
Once the smelter is constructed, you’ll need three ingredients to actually use it for making bronze:
- 1 Copper Ore
- 1 Tin Ore
- 3 Firewood
Each smelter can have up to 20 bronze ingots queued simultaneously, but will only smelt one at a time. Each ingot takes several minutes to produce, so it’s best to put all the ingredients in the smelter then go do something else. You can collectg all the produced ingots when you return.
You cannot use charcoal in place of firewood to produce bronze.
What Is Bronze Used For In Sengoku Dynasty?
Bronze is used to make the third tier of tools and weapons; better than copper, but not as good as iron and steel. These items will last longer, deal more damage, and harvest resources more efficiently than their stone and copper counterparts.
Additionally, bronze tools are required to harvest advanced raw materials. In particular, you need a bronze pickax to be able to mine iron ore.
You can craft a bronze yari at the Workshop as soon as you have your first bronze ingot, which is a very useful weapon for defending yourself. For other blueprints, you’ll need to liberate nearby regions. The Enjiro Region will get you the blueprints for bronze weapons and armor, while the Mountain Region is required for bronze tools.
