In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, players have an extensive lineup of content to unlock, from weapons and gear to the highly coveted Mastery Camos, each requiring dedicated time and effort to complete specific challenges across various weapon classes.
Among these challenges, Launcher tasks stand out, as they not only involve destroying Scorestreaks but also demand Direct Hit kills to complete the Special Camo requirements. Here’s a guide to efficiently earning Direct Hit kills in BO6.
How to Earn Direct Hit Kills in Black Ops 6
To achieve Direct Hit kills in Black Ops 6, players must kill an enemy by landing a Launcher shot directly on them. Typically, Launchers allow you to shoot near an enemy, relying on the blast radius to secure the kill. However, for this particular challenge, the Launcher shot must hit the enemy directly for the kill to count towards your progress.
To efficiently achieve Direct Hit kills in BO6 Multiplayer, it’s ideal to choose small maps like Pit and Stakeout, which are available in Face Off Mosh Pit or Gunfight mode. These compact maps offer close-quarters combat and quick access to enemies, making it easier to land direct hits with a Launcher. Another reliable way to secure Direct Hit kills is by aiming for Point Blank range, where the enemy is close enough for you to land a direct shot, minimizing the chances of missing.
If the Launcher shot hits an enemy directly while its splash damage affects nearby players, you’ll also gain assist kills, contributing to your score.
HE-1 Challenge
A key advantage of completing the Direct Hit kills challenge with the HE-1 Launcher is its lack of a lock-on mechanism. While it may not be ideal for targeting scorestreaks, this feature allows for quicker, more intuitive shots, which is especially useful on smaller maps where reaction time is limited. With the HE-1, simply aim directly at the enemy and fire when they’re in a vulnerable position. This approach makes it easier to land a direct hit without delays.
Cigma 2B Challenge
One drawback of the Cigma 2B is its lock-on mechanic, which, despite affecting only scorestreaks, also affects its firing speed. This makes it slower and more clunky, particularly when engaging nearby targets. To counteract the delay, it’s best to maintain some distance and pre-aim at spots where enemies are likely to appear, increasing the chances of a direct hit. For instance, the long hallways in Stakeout are ideal for setting up anticipated shots.
