Pokemon TCG Pocket adopts a typical gacha game approach by overwhelming players with multiple currencies: Poke Gold, Shop Ticket, Premium Ticket, and Special Shop Ticket. And with so many similar yet distinct currencies, it’s easy to get confused. But don’t worry—we’ve put together a detailed guide to explain Special Shop Tickets and the only two ways to acquire them. Even better, this guide will also help you learn how to consume rare cards!
Special Shop Tickets Explained
In Pokemon TCG Pocket, Special Shop Tickets are a rare accessory-unlocking currency. You earn them by either collecting high-rarity cards or by exchanging them with another currency called “Shop Tickets.”
Special Shop Tickets can be used in the store to purchase the Special Set 01 accessories, which include a coin, sleeve, cover, playmat, and backdrop. To acquire every item in this set, you must have 64 Special Tickets or 19,200 Shop Tickets.

How to Get Special Shop Tickets
Currently, there are two ways to acquire Special Shop Tickets: by consuming rare cards or by exchanging regular Shop Tickets. The first method, consuming rare cards, involves using Shinedust and rare card copies. The second method, exchanging regular tickets, is instant and doesn’t require additional resources.
How to Consume Rare Cards
- Go to My Cards.
- Filter cards by Rarity.
- Select a One-Star (or better) card you have at least three copies of.
- Tap the Obtain Flair option.
- Pay the required Shinedust to turn it into a Special Shop Ticket.
In Pokemon TCG Pocket, card consumption is an exchange mechanic. By selecting a card and accessing its “Obtain Flair” section, you can view the items offered in exchange for that specific card. For One-, Two-, and Three-Star cards, one of the available exchange items is a Special Shop Ticket.
The Shinedust required for consuming rare cards increases with card rarity. A One-Star Pokemon card costs 500 Shinedust, a Two-Star card costs 1,800 Shinedust, and a Three-Star card requires 4,000 Shinedust.
How to Buy Special Tickets
One Special Ticket can be purchased from the shop for 300 regular Shop Tickets. These Shop Tickets are earned by completing tasks, missions, and objectives across various modes or by purchasing items in the store. However, they accumulate slowly, making it impractical to spend 300 on a single Special Ticket. It’s generally wiser to save them for more valuable items, like Pokemon Pocket’s Pack Hourglasses.
Are Special Shop Tickets Worth It?
In short, no, Special Tickets are not worth it. Unless you’re a dedicated collector or high spender aiming to collect every cosmetic in Pokemon Pocket, it’s best to skip Special Shop Tickets. They don’t provide any competitive advantage and are purely cosmetic.
Fortunately, Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s monetization of Special Tickets doesn’t impact gameplay, so you don’t need to worry about others gaining an edge by investing heavily in these currencies.
