Fortnite Player Lists Movie Titles That Could Be In-Game Locations

Key Takeaways

  • Fortnite locations generally follow a specific naming pattern with alliteration.
  • Twitter user Connie created a list of movies that could pass off as Fortnite locations.
  • The list expanded from 4 to over 20 films, with some, like Hamburger Hill and Sing Street, being perfect fits for the game.

Over the years, Fortnite has had some pretty iconic locations. Tomato Town is arguably the most well-known, which, alongside Moisty Mire, Loot Lake, and Pleasant Park, featured in the infamous Chug Jug With You song, but since it launched, dozens of famous landmarks have come and gone.

We gotta number one Victory Ka-chow.

With such distinct names, one movie-fan-cum-Fortnite-player has decided to create a list of films that sound like they could be locations in Epic Games’ free-to-play battle royale.

The Ultimate Fortnite Letterboxd

Fortnite location names usually have a certain cadence to them. They’re usually two words, the first having two syllables and the second being monosyllabic, with some kind of alliteration involved.

This inspired Twitter user Connie (@ConchiclatorS) to create a Letterboxd list with movies that wouldn’t sound out of place as Fortnite points of interest.

Connie’s list started small, with just four movies—Rebel Ridge, Brokeback Mountain, Asteroid City, and Pan’s Labyrinth—However, with the help of Twitter, the list grew to more than 20.

The extended cut included:

  • Jurassic Park
  • Snack Shack
  • Funny Farm
  • Sunset Boulevard
  • Hacksaw Ridge
  • Lake Munro
  • Sing Street
  • Hidden Fortress
  • Cutter’s Way
  • Twin Peaks
  • Mulholland Drive
  • Gosford Park
  • Crimson Peak
  • Hamburger Hill
  • Meek’s Cutoff
  • Cannonball Run
  • Miller’s Crossing
  • Mystic River

While some feel like a bit of a stretch, you can’t convince me that Hamburger Hill, Sing Street, and Snack Shack haven’t appeared in Fortnite over the past seven years.

Although Connie’s list stops at 23, dozens of comments were left on the Letterboxd page and in response to the original Tweet, with some more stellar responses. The likes of La La Land, Pacific Rim, Mystic River, Haunted Mansion, Towering Inferno, Paranoid Park, and Hotel Transylvania were personal favorites of those that didn’t make the cut.
