Key Takeaways
- Fortnite fans are so used to the game’s infamous battle pass grind that Remix’s shorter length is a breath of fresh air.
- While it makes sense for the 50-level pass to take less time, fans want it to become the new norm.
- This is especially true considering certain seasons in Chapter 5 have actually made the grind worse.
Fortnite fans love how fast levelling-up is in the OG Remix Chapter 2 season and want it to be carried over to future chapters and full seasons in the future.
From the moment Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode dropped in 2017, it’s steadily grown to be one of the biggest games of all time and has irreversibly shaped the face of online gaming as we know it. Perhaps the biggest and most influential thing it’s done is the Battle Pass, which it didn’t invent but certainly made a mainstream thing for every other live service game.

Fortnite Just Killed Fall Guys And Nobody Seems To Care
Several games folding into a single metaverse isn’t always a good thing.
While playing matches, levelling up, and then spending the currency you earn to unlock costumes and emotes is a normal practice now, it’s fair to say that as Fortnite has gotten bigger and more popular, the grind has become much worse. This has especially been true of the last few seasons, with players complaining about how long it takes to earn XP and unlock everything on the pass.
Fortnite Fans Think Remix Has The Perfect Amount Of Grinding – None
That makes the latest season, Remix, a breath of fresh air. Just like the Fortnite OG season from last year, this mini-event has a Battle Pass that only consists of 50 levels and lasts for a month, which makes it a whole lot easier to earn everything on the pass. This has been noticed by a lot of players recently, but was brought to attention by Redditor BelowAverageLegend58 on the Battle Royale subreddit.
BelowAverageLegend58 shared an image of the Battle Pass screen and asked other players if they’d noticed how easy it was to level up and progress this season, with some saying that it’s even faster than it was in OG thanks to all of the extra modes offering XP. While the original post frames it as somewhat of a negative, the replies are very telling of how Fortnite players feel about the grind lately.
While some fans say that they enjoy the grind and like having something to work towards, most of the popular replies suggest that players like how fast things progress. Redditor Hopeful_Set4012 said, “Yes and it’s absolutely GREAT. I much prefer getting stuff fast”, while a few other users jokingly said to keep it quiet so Epic doesn’t ramp up the requirements.
Yeah, and it needs to stay like this for all future passes. Fortnite shouldn’t feel like a full-time job when a lot of people already have one. – RETR0CADE
This is far from the only discussion on Reddit about how fast it is to level up in Remix, which just goes to show how much of a grind it is in regular chapters and seasons. Here’s hoping that Epic goes back on some of the changes it’s made in recent seasons and makes Fortnite feel like less of a job.
