Season one of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to launch on November 14, and it’s likely to run until around January 2025 with a mid-season update in between. A large bulk of season one’s content is related to the core multiplayer of Black Ops 6, with six new maps being slated for release. At launch, season one will introduce the Hideout, Extraction, and Heirloom 6v6 maps, with Heirloom also doubling-up as a new 2v2 experience. Later on in the season, fans will also get access to Racket, Hacienda, and a festive re-skin of the iconic Nuketown map.
New game mechanics are coming with season one in the form of multiplayer equipment, with the powerful new Hand Cannon scorestreak rewarding accuracy with rapid and instant kills. A new multiplayer perk is also a part of season one’s content, known as Shadow, which will allow players to remain undetectable to enemy mines and traps. The Shrapnel Radar perk will also be added later on in the season; with the perk, any blast damage dealt to enemies momentarily causes them to appear on a player’s mini-map.
A new Wild Card is also set to make waves in Black Ops 6 season one, with High Roller allowing players to use up to four scorestreaks in core multiplayer. In terms of new modes, competitive players will be thrilled to hear that Ranked Play is coming to Black Ops 6 with season one, with a 6v6 looter gamemode called Ransack also being added to the game. Season one will also add Prop Hunt, which is likely the first of many party modes that will be added to Black Ops 6 in the near future.
A New Battle Pass and Further Weapon Customization Are at the Heart of Black Ops 6’s Season One
As expected, season one of Black Ops 6 will also introduce the game’s first battle pass, with a skin for Sevati Dumas being the tier 100 reward and the eye-catching Goliath skin being the crown jewel of the Blackcell battle pass. The season one battle pass will also feature two unlockable new weapons, the Krig C assault rifle and the Saug SMG. Season one will also feature the first limited-time event for Black Ops 6, Hit List, which has its own range of challenges and rewards.
For example, players will be able to unlock the Power Drill and Cleaver melee weapons, the Siren 9MM special weapon, the Maelstrom shotgun, and AMR Mod 4 sniper rifle through season one events. Many of these weapons will be compatible with the fresh attachments of season one, with the Buffer Weight Stock and Dragon’s Breath attachments adding even more personalization to Black Ops 6. This potential customization is taken even further with the upcoming season one store bundles for Black Ops 6, which include the eccentric Brightmare bundle and The Replacer Tracer Pack bundle.
