Key Takeaways
- Articuno ex hits multiple Bench Pokemon with Blizzard for 80 damage each and requires Water Energy.
- Gengar has a Move, Bother, that blocks an opponent’s Supporter for one Energy and 50 damage.
- Dugtrio’s Move, Dig, allows it to block attacks/effects with a coin flip for 40 damage.
There are many strategies that go into mastering Pokemon TCG Pocket. In fact, some of the best Pokemon in the game do more than just damage when they use their Moves. Some of them have rippling effects that weaken your opponent’s Bench, while others can protect themselves from enemy attacks.

Pokemon Pocket: 8 Best Energy Acceleration Cards
These are the best Energy Acceleration cards in Pokemon Pocket.
Every card opens up a whole new world of possibilities for whichever deck you want to make, whether you want to go aggressive with your strategies or control the field and slowly take the victory. So here are some of the best Pokemon with moves that can help you in unique ways.
13
Articuno Ex
Hitting The Benches With Ice
Articuno ex has a very powerful but unique Move that lets it hit everything on the Bench. Blizzard will do 80 damage for three Water Energy and deal ten damage to all of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon.
This is why Articuno ex is a top choice to lead decks using Misty to rack up Energy and get this Move online as fast as possible. When at full power, there is no hiding from this powerful ex Pokemon.
12
Gengar
Blocking Your Opponent’s Path To Victory
The standard Gengar works similar to Gengar ex but rather than having its Supporter blocking powers in the form of an Ability, it can instead do this trick by using the Move Bother.

This Move costs only one Energy and deals 50 damage. The only difference is that it needs to be able to hit first before the Support block takes effect. While this Move may not be as potent as Gengar ex’s, knocking it out will only score your opponent a single point.
11
Dugtrio
Blocking The Effects Of Attacks
The good thing about Dugtrio is that it has the potential to block whatever damage or effects may come at it the next turn. For one Energy, Dig will do 40 damage and let you flip a coin to see if gain that protection.
This can be an excellent way to stall the game and stop your opponent from utilizing their most powerful Moves. It won’t even matter if your opponent switches out Pokemon. Dugtrio remains protected.
10
Kabutops
Absorbing Life
While many Pokemon can heal themselves with their own Moves, Kabutops is the only one that can literally absorb HP from your opponent. This is because Leech Life doesn’t have a base set of HP that it heals, but rather it heals per damage.
This means that the harder you hit, the more HP you can take. This applies to Weakness buffs and the use of Giovanni to strengthen your attacks.
9
Grapploct
Knock Back And Knock Out Pokemon
While there are a few cards that can use their abilities to switch out your opponent’s Active Pokemon, Grapploct is the only one that does so using a Move.
For three Energy, Knock Back does a decent 70 damage and sends the target flying back into the Bench. This allows you to strike the next turn and hit a completely different target while also forcing your opponent to keep paying for Retreat Cost.
8
Arbok
Keeping Your Opponent In A Bind
The Pokemon under the Darkness Energy banner have some of the most interesting attacks in Pokemon TCG Pocket. Arbok’s Corner Move does 60 damage and locks down your opponent from Retreating.

This means your opponent will have to scramble to finish powering up their Active Pokemon or find a way to stop Arbok from using its Move. Combined with cards that can force switches, this becomes a powerful competitive piece.
7
Nidoqueen
A King And Queen Combined
Nidoqueen is unique because it gets more powerful the more Nidokings you set up on the Bench. So, with two Nidokings in your deck, you can potentially make Nidoqueen one of the heaviest hitters at 180 damage per turn.
This is also the only Pokemon that gains an advantage by having specific copies of other cards on the Bench. With the help of Giovanni, this card can even knock out Venusaur ex in one hit, which is impossible for most other Pokemon.
6
Dragonite
Unique In Every Way
Dragonite is unique in so many ways. For starters, it is the only Dragon-type Pokemon in Genetic Apex, and it is also the only Pokemon to require two types of Energy. Its Move, Draco Meteor, also seems like it would revolve around coin flips.

Pokemon Pocket: Every Supporter Ranked
The perfect supporter cards can really change the way your deck plays. We take a look at every supporter card in the game and rank them.
Instead, your targets are randomly selected from the Pokemon that your opponent has in their Active and Benched Spots. So, with one Pokemon on the field, that’s 200 damage going to one target. The more Pokemon they have, the more the damage gets spread around.
5
Meowth
Attack And Draw Cards
Meowth is the only Pokemon in the game that can help you draw more cards each turn. Each time it uses Pay Day, you get to deal ten damage and draw a card.
This card goes great in decks that need to find every Evolution for their Pokemon and makes set up more efficient when you need to find two specific cards in a stack of 15.
4
Persian
A Helpful Hand Rip
Unlike its Pre-Evolution, Persian doesn’t add cards to your hand but takes them away from your opponent. For two Energy, Shadow Claw does 40 damage, but the best effect only happens if you manage to flip a coin correctly.
Shadow Claw lets you discard a card from your opponent’s hand. This can be deadly if your opponent relies on Evolution Pokemon to get their strongest strategies going.
3
Lickitung
Misty In The Form Of An Attack
Lickitung has the potential to do the most damage of any Pokemon in the game if luck is on your side. Continuous Lick doesn’t have a cap on how many coins you can flip for 60 damage each.
Like Misty, this means that with enough good flips before you hit tails, you can potentially knock out any Pokemon in one hit. With four lucky flips, you can do a whopping 240 damage, which will do the trick.
2
Aerodactyl
Sending Cards To The Deck
Aerodactyl is the easiest Fossil Pokemon to get on the field since it only needs to Evolve once from Old Amber. Once you get it in play, Primal Wingbeat will cost you two Energy to use, but can be efficient at toppling giants in one hit.
Flip a coin and if it lands on heads, whichever Pokemon you attack gets sent back into the deck. This includes any of its Pre-Evolutions if it has any.
1
Ditto
A Friendly Copycat
One of the most creative Pokemon of all time is Ditto and Pokemon TCG Pocket captures its abilities perfectly. Using Copy Anything, Ditto can copy any Move that your opponent currently has on the field.
The only downside is that you still need the same Energy types to pull it off. This Move is excellent in mirror matches, but also works well when your opponent has some Colorless Pokemon in play.
