Polaris Actor Revealed By Actor

Polaris Actor Revealed By Actor

Key Takeaways

  • An actor has listed The Witcher 4 on their resume.
  • This suggests that filming has either started or will be starting soon.
  • The release date for The Witcher 4 is listed as 2025, but this is likely a placeholder.

It appears that casting for The Witcher 4, also known as Polaris, is well underway. As spotted online, an actor has listed the next Witcher game on his resume, revealing that he’s playing a character called Branko.

The resume lists The Witcher 4 as a 2025 release, although this is likely a placeholder, given that we haven’t seen anything of the game so far. Still, with at least one actor – and presumably more – attached to the project, alongside a director, it appears that development is further ahead than we had thought.

The Witcher 4 Has Seemingly Started Casting Actors

This development was spotted by Reddit user KekanKok. They noted that actor Jake Lampert has added “The Witcher 4: Polaris” to his resume, playing the role of Branko. The director is listed as Kate Saxon, who has previously worked on both The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3, as well as Alien: Isolation, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

With one person cast, it’s likely that others are too, and the resumes just haven’t been found or updated. It remains to be seen who the main cast is, however, and how many characters will be returning.

How Will RPGs Have Changed By The Time The Witcher 4 Arrives?

Modern classics like Disco Elysium and Baldur’s Gate 3 have released since we last saw The White Wolf. How will The Witcher 4 evolve for the times?

We can make some assumptions about the sequel already. For starters, it’s supposed to be part of a new trilogy, so some believe that we’ll be playing as Ciri this time rather than Geralt. Further supporting this theory, Geralt actor Doug Cockle has said that he will be “a part of the game”, but the story is “not about him this time”. CDPR has also described The Witcher 4 as “an excellent entry point” for new players, which supports the idea that we’ll be getting a new protagonist, whoever that may be.

In any case, it seems that production is coming along nicely if CDPR is at the stage where it can cast actors. We’ll have to wait and see if this means that the studio is ready to show off something from the game next year.

The Witcher 4 is an upcoming RPG from Polish developer CD Projekt Red, and codenamed Polaris. Other than it being in development, little is known as to the plot, although CDPR has said it will start a new, multi-game saga.
