Clash Royale Evo Musketeer Overview

Evo Musketeer is the 25th Evolution Card added to Clash Royale. The Evo Musketeer shares identical stats with the base card, dealing the same amount of damage while having the same HP. However, it has a unique ability called Sniper that gives her infinite range for three shots.

This ability triggers on its own when you drop the Evo Musketeer. She will target any opponent troop (except the Princess and King Towers) that is directly in her line of sight. The unit will fire three shots that deal bonus damage per shot. After that, she becomes a normal Musketeer.

While many players may complain that Evo Musketeer isn’t as strong as the other Evolution Cards in the game, it certainly is helpful in some situations. In the classic 2.6 Hog Rider deck, you can consider using it instead of the Evo Ice Spirit to snipe out your opponent’s defensive buildings so that your Hog Rider can reach the Tower. You can also use it to snipe out something like an Electro Wizard or Night Witch when your opponent places it in the back.

Of course, as the meta progresses, players will undoubtedly find more innovative ways to use the card. For now, it’s a decent addition to the game with a lot of potential, especially in the Evo Musketeer Draft Challenge.

The Evo Musketeer Draft is a limited-time event/challenge in which players can use the Evo Musketeer even when they don’t have it unlocked. Since it’s a draft game mode, you can’t play with a premade deck and must choose from a pool of cards to build a unique deck for each match.

When you enter a game in the Evo Musketeer event, you’ll have to choose four cards while your opponent does the same. You’ll get two options for each selection. Your chosen card goes into your deck, while your opponent gets the others. So, your deck will be made up of four cards that you chose and four cards that your opponent gave to you. The Challenge only allows one Evo Card for each player. If you pick the Evo Musketeer, your opponent will end up with the other Evo Card for the matchup.

Naturally, Evo Musketeer will get a lot of edge in the event. But if you get the opportunity to choose the Evolution card and see something like the Evo Pekka
or Evo Goblin Drill
, it’s a better idea to go for that one.

We recommend thinking carefully about the spell card in your deck. If you see something like the Fireball or Poison, it’s a good choice for almost any deck. On the bright side, it also counters the Evo Musketeer while damaging their Princess Towers. You’ll also want to go for beatdown cards like the Golem or Goblin Giant, as the Evo Musketeer has a tough time killing it. Balloon isn’t really the best win condition for the event since Musketeer is its biggest counter.

Speaking of counters, you should also watch out for the Witch. If you think your opponent has the Evo Musketeer, Witch is the best card you can get. When used smartly, the Skeletons spawned from the Witch can soak up the Sniper shots of the Evo Musketeer, making her practically useless. If you’ve already given your opponent the Witch, it’s best to steer clear of the Evo Musketeer and go for the other available Evo card.

Swarm troops like the Minion Horde or Skeleton Army are always great at draft events in Clash Royale. If your opponent doesn’t have the right counters for it, you can get a lot of value out of them. Having a defensive building like Tesla or Inferno Tower is also a good idea since it can help you stop a lot of your opponent’s cards.

Cannon isn’t a great choice as a defensive building, since the Musketeer can take it out from a safe distance.

As we said, if you’ve got the option, think carefully about the Evo card you choose. Evo Musketeer doesn’t automatically get you the win. Here’s a match where we managed to win even when our opponent had the Evo Musketeer in the event game:

Luck will always play a role in any draft game, and the Evo Musketeer Draft Challenge isn’t any different, but if you manage to put the tips we mentioned to good use, you’ll have a higher chance of winning this Clash Royale challenge.
