Or maybe design a scary water ride that gets everyone’s heart pumping? You can do them both and more in this fantastic new construction and management simulation game.
The game gives you all the tools to bring your imagination to life. You can even unlock new coaster designs and blueprints from the Research menu. How to Get Research Points in Planet Coaster 2
Research Points in Planet Coaster 2 are your primary currency to unlock new rides, attractions, or facilities for your park. To get Research Points, you’ll need to build a Planet Coaster Workshop first. You’ll find it in the Facilities section of the Build Menu.
You don’t have to hire staff for it, but you do need to connect it to a path. Once open, it will automatically hire a staff, and you’ll start generating a steady supply of Research Points that you can use to unlock new attractions.
Planet Coaster Workshop requires $426.00 to build.
You’ll see the amount of Research Points you’ve accumulated at the bottom of your screen on the left (beside the Park Rating). Clicking on it will bring you to the Research menu, where you can see all the available Research items and the requirements for unlocking them.
You can also click the Park Management button (top-left) and access the Research menu from there.

The unlock requirements only apply if you’re playing the Career Mode. If you’re playing in Sandbox Mode, you don’t need to worry about progressing through the Chapters. But you still have to unlock prior research before you can access the new ones.
The only way to get Research Points in Planet Coaster 2 at the moment is to build Planet Coaster. Each Workshop yields around 14 Research points each second. So, as you progress through the game and expand your amusement park, you also need to build more Planet Coaster Workshops to keep your Research Points up and make a profit from new rides you unlock.
