Foraging is a gathering profession in the first chapter, Hopeport, allowing you to pick up materials needed for crafting various recipes. Here’s everything you need to know about gathering Brown Kelp, the first gatherable material in the Forager profession.
Where To Find Brown Kelp
Brown Kelp is a level zero Foraging resource that is used to make basic healing potions. If you plan on leveling your Alchemy and Foraging, you’ll be needing loads of this material, so it is best to get familiar with where it’s sourced from.
Brown Kelp can be found in two locations in Hopeport: the East Beach and Jellyfish Landing. These areas can be found to the south and west of the Town Square and main street of Hopeport.
Visually, Brown Kelp looks like a mass of light-brown rags, but it’s distinct enough from other objects in the area that you should have no problem spotting it.
At certain levels, Brown Kelp will be upgraded into higher tiers of Kelp. Here’s every level of Kelp you can gather as a Forager.
Kelp |
Forager Level |
---|---|
Brown Kelp |
0 |
Green Kelp |
47 |
Silver Kelp |
161 |
All Kelp variants are gathered from the same two locations in Hopeport, but you can still gather Brown Kelp if you’re above level 47 Forager by using the Past Action option to select lower tiers.
