Marowak and Dugtrio don’t usually get much love in the competitive Pokemon scene, but these cards combine to form an excellent partnership that can surprise your opponents with quick KOs and turn the tide in your favor. Get ready to heavily rely on getting heads during your coin flips with Marowak ex.
What Cards Do You Need For A Marowak Ex And Dugtrio Deck?
Your deck starts with your Pokemon before anything else, so get Marowak ex as soon as you start the game by selecting the Mewtwo Genetic Apex pack.
Alternatively, you can always try to pull Marowak ex and Cubone naturally from Mewtwo Genetic Apex packs even if it wasn’t your first selection.
Giovanni is also available in these packs.
You’ll find Diglett and Dugtrio in the Pikachu Genetic Apex packs, while you’ll need to complete the trio by opening Charizard packs to nab copies of Sabrina.
The rest of the item cards you’ll need, like Professor’s Research and X Speed, are available in the shop for two exchange tickets each.

The Pokemon should be easy enough to acquire, but if you’re missing copies of Sabrina or Giovanni, you can always substitute a Red Card into the fray to fill your slots.
While Red Cards aren’t always helpful, they can disrupt your opponent and prevent them from evolving their Pokemon, if timed correctly.
How To Play A Marowak Ex And Dugtrio Deck
Playing this deck will require you to have excellent luck, as even if you have a perfect start to the match, you still must rely on the luck of a coin flip each time you use your Bonemerang attack.
Diglett and Dugtrio are good walls to send out first while you get Marowak set up, but feel free to adjust and send Cubone out first if you start with a good hand that’s ready to evolve.
While Diglett and Dugtrio don’t usually pack much of a punch, you can use Giovanni to catch your opponent off guard and do a bit more damage than usual, possibly KO’ing a Pokemon who was too weak to mitigate the unexpected damage.
Although Marowak will be ineffective if you don’t have luck on your side, its potential 160 damage is enough to knock out popular EX Pokemon in one shot, including Mewtwo ex, Pikachu ex, and Starmie ex, making Marowak one of the best Fighting-type cards in Pokemon Pocket.
However, even if you’re able to average heads once for each turn you flip two coins, then doing 80 damage with a move that only requires two energy is still strong enough to win games.
