Throughout the Crossroads region of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you can find portals tucked away in corners that lead to memories of the past. Each portal leads to its own sidequest, and the one in the Heights of Athim is called “Disrupt and Conquer.”
None of the flashback quests in the game are difficult, but “Disrupt and Conquer” is particularly easy. Still, there are a couple of chests you might miss, and completing the quest is a great time to find a Fen’Harel statuette.

Here’s how players can get this armor set that references another beloved BioWare franchise.
Where to Start Disrupt and Conquer
You can start “Disrupt and Conquer” once you begin the story quest “A Warden’s Best Friend.” This story quest activates the third ferry in the Crossroads, which leads to the Heights of Athim area.
From the Athim dock, head up through the ruined building. You should see a large cliff ahead. Head left, and you should see a way to climb up towards the cliff. This leads to a shimmering green gate, and walking through the gate will start “Disrupt and Conquer.” Bear in mind that you can’t turn around once you go through.
Where to Find Every Chest in Disrupt and Conquer
After the flashback starts, go forward and leave the cave. But before you walk up the ramp, look to your left. You should find a small chest at the edge of the cliff to the west.
At the top of the ramp, step into the glowing circle to listen to Solas and General Felassan recruit a bunch of chaotic spirits for an assault. Once they finish, the way forward will open. Go through, then turn right immediately. There’s another small chest on this side of the wall.
Throughout this quest, the only enemies you’ll encounter are level one Recruits. Even if you avoided optional quests and fights up to this point, mopping up these enemies should be easy. To get the last few in this encounter, climb the ladder that’s straight ahead. While you’re up here, activate the ballista. You can use it to break open the way forward, which is the blocked arch to the left of the burning tree. You can then fire the ballista a few more times to kill the recruits who rush through the hole, or just fight them normally.
On the far side is another fight with recruits. Head past them to the burning pit, then go left. A pair of staircases should appear that lead you around the pit. You’ll then hear Solas and Felassan talking. Once they finish, the way forward will open and more Recruits will pour through. Fight your way across the bridge, and when you reach the far side, the gate straight ahead will open up. More Recruits will rush in, but then the Evanuris will unleash a massive attack that destroys everyone.
Solas and Felassan have one last exchange after this, and Rook will appear in a new location. Open the large chest and pick up the wolf statuette to finish the quest. You can then ride the elevator down to the top of the cliff back in the Heights of Athim.
There’s a gate up here that leads to a major fade rift, but the way to get inside is part of a different quest. You can also pick up a Fen’Harel Altar statuette if you activated the altar earlier, and a codex entry. The zipline will take you back to where you started.
