Players nicknamed the characters “Onion Knights,” not as a reference to a famous Game of Thrones character, but because of the bulbous shape of their Catarina armor set.

The centerpiece of jayrobodog2560’s Onion Knight costume is built around the Wrapped Traveler Mask from 2020. It’s based on the Traveler, which Guardians traveled inside when they entered the Pale Heart in Destiny 2: The Final Shape. Its globular shape matches the “masterfully forged curves” of the Catarina Armor helmet. The rest of the costume is made from other similarly curved armor pieces, like the Gensym Knight Gauntlets, Plate of Nohr, Turris Shade Greaves, and Mark of the Great Hunt.
