Treyarch Nerfs Black Ops 6’s Recon Perk for the Third Time
The latest Black Ops 6 update went live on November 8, making even more changes to the latest Call of Duty title, including a plethora of bug fixes for Zombies and Multiplayer, while also adding new featured playlists for players to check out. Unfortunately, for those still rocking Recon Combat Specialty, Treyarch has once again hit the perk with another nerf. While the initial patch notes stated that the time in which enemies are highlighted after respawning would be reduced from 1.5 to 1 second, the studio followed up a few hours later with another update that reduced the time once again, this time from 1 second to 0.5 seconds. This marks the third nerf to the perk, with its original time being 2 seconds when Black Ops 6 was first launched.
After multiple nerfs to Black Ops 6’s Recon perk, any further reductions would simply make the perk unusable. Although the Combat Specialty only allows players to see enemies through walls for a short period of time, the community believed Recon was too powerful on smaller maps, such as Stakeout, Warhead, and Nuketown. Prior to the nerf, players could see the enemy’s general direction of movement due to it lasting for two seconds, but as Treyarch has reduced the time to less than a second, players will now just be able to see where their opponents are for an incredibly brief moment.
With Season 1 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone set for November 14, there’s likely going to be even further weapon balancing adjustments and changes with the massive content update. Although these details won’t be confirmed until the official patch notes are released, Activision has already pulled back the curtain on Season 1, revealing a plethora of new multiplayer maps, weapons, modes, operators, and more will be coming to both Call of Duty titles later this month.
