Key Takeaways
- Weak weapon combinations like Sword and Shield + Longbow lack synergy and fall short in PvP combat.
- The Sword and Shield + Staff combo offers crowd control but lacks competitiveness in PvE and PvP.
- The Crossbow + Wand and Tome combo lacks synergy, resulting in insufficient damage and healing in all scenarios.
Throne and Liberty creates a unique spin on MMORPGs with a weapon combination mechanic, where character building and the action centers around wielding a combination of two weapons. There are a total of seven weapons for players to pick from, and several combinations work to fit powerful builds for roles like tank, healer, and DPS.

Every Throne and Liberty Class Explained
Throne and Liberty doesn’t feature traditional classes, but its weapon-based class system allows players to choose from seven unique playstyles.
While individual weapons are powerful on their own, the game is designed around building skills between weapons and creating synergies that can complement each other. However, there are weak weapon combinations that can make the game harder or create a fun challenge. Here are some of the weakest weapon combinations to look out for.
1 Warden
Sword & Shield + Longbow
- Stat Priorities: Dexterity, Strength
While the Longbow alone is reliable for long-range damage and minor defensive capabilities, in combination with the Sword and Shield, its lack of synergy makes it a weak option for PvP. The Sword and Shield skills offer ways to survive longer, but overall the damage output falls short.
Players can potentially work with a tank/support setup, but the Warden class is not as good as other builds. Having a Sword and Shield equipped usually means slower leveling in PvE, making the Longbow the only real useful weapon until players can enter Co-Op Dungeons.
2 Disciple
Sword & Shield + Staff
- Stat Priorities: Strength, Wisdom
The Sword and Shield and Staff combo is a fun choice, offering viable crowd control, but due to conflicting attack ranges and low mobility, this is one of the least competitive classes in both PvE and PvP scenarios. Playing as a tank in Co-Op scenarios may be fine, but DPS will fall behind in damage output.
This class also has no healing capabilities, making solo play rather difficult. Players who use the Sword and Shield and Staff combination may want to invest in healing items, and level up the Counter Barrier skill.
3 Sentinel
Greatsword + Staff
- Stat Priorities: Dexterity, Strength
The Greatsword and Staff combination is a great example of a glass cannon that struggles later on. Both weapons deal high burst damage and are excellent for beginning players who want to get a feel of the game. However, players may struggle to play as a Sentinel due to a lack of mobility and survivability.

The skills for both weapons tend to have longer cooldowns, and the passive skills don’t blend well together. The “glass” in glass cannon becomes apparent in PvP, as the long-range and close-range synergy and extra downtime make combat awkward.
4 Ranger
Greatsword + Longbow
- Stat Priorities: Dexterity, Strength
Throne and Liberty starts players off with the Greatsword and Longbow in the tutorial, and offers decent damage with each individual weapon. However, put together, their passive skills lack synergy and the conflicting ranges result in weak damage output.
Beginning players may struggle in PvP and some PvE scenarios because of the low survivability, with the only healing skill being Nature’s Blessing from the Longbow. Farming items from lower-level mobs is one of the best things this class can do.
5 Paladin
Greatsword + Wand & Tome
- Stat Priorities: Strength, Dexterity
Even though the Paladin class title is a classic seen in many MMORPGs, the class here sadly suffers from bad DPS and weak mobility. As another example of conflicting playstyles, the Greatsword and Wand and Tome individually have great bursts of damage and debuffs but nothing as strong or effective as other weapon combinations.
Players could attempt to tank but won’t find good crowd-control abilities until much later in the game. This combination seems to work best as a DPS support role, but the synergy truly fails to shine here.
6 Raider
Sword & Shield + Crossbow
- Stat Priorities: Dexterity, Strength
The Raider class combo is one of the worst classes overall with limited damage and AoE potential, and ironically, the worst class to maintain the frontlines in PvP. With minimal skill synergy in both active and passive skills, players may find themselves struggling when faced with more than one enemy.

Players looking to conquer Throne and Liberty solo may want to heed the following tips and strategies.
It is recommended not to use this weapon combination in PvP. But with forgiving teammates, this class can be fun in Co-Op scenarios, especially when better skills unlock and specialization points come into play.
7 Fury
Crossbow + Wand & Tome
- Stat Priorities: Dexterity, Perception
The Crossbow and Wand and Tome combination is the weakest weapon combo in Throne and Liberty. While the Wand and Tome can provide some healing benefits, the lack of synergy struggles with single-target burst damage and healing. This makes the class insufficient for dealing great damage and healing, failing to fulfill any support role.
On top of this, lacking good damage and healing makes playing this class solo a real challenge. This weapon combo puts any player at a disadvantage in PvP and Co-Op scenarios, as there are much better combinations that achieve greater results.
