Like Inquisition, the player feels like a part of the companion’s story, watching them deal with grief, anger, and an assortment of other emotions too, while also improving these interactions through various outings and conversations with the new companions that take place throughout Veilguard’s story.

Although a player can no longer decorate their entire party in plaid weave, the player is still able to collect various crafting materials that are needed to upgrade their equipment at the Lighthouse. Many players had a love-hate relationship with the exploration in Dragon Age: Inquisition. While there was enjoyment for the variety of locations to explore, many players, however, found the open-world-like maps to feel incredibly empty.
When approaching Dragon Age: The Veilguard, it’s great to see that BioWare has kept the thrill of exploration through various maps that explore Northern Thedas. They are completely open and take a more linear approach. This doesn’t mean there is less to explore, as the maps themselves are still large with plenty to discover from chests to simply admiring the scenery.
