The Sims 4 Players Are Upset About 'Broken' Reaper's Rewards Event

Key Takeaways

  • Players are dissatisfied with The Sims 4 Reaper’s Rewards event, finding it broken.
  • Many players have been experiencing bugs preventing them from unlocking event rewards.
  • Players are frustrated with lack of helpful responses from official channels and want EA to fix or extend the event.

With The Sims 4‘s Reaper’s Rewards event rapidly approaching its end, players are voicing their dissatisfaction with the game, calling the event broken. Numerous players have shared their problems with the event via official Sims 4 channels, but their complaints seem to be largely falling on deaf ears so far.

The Sims 4 announced that it would begin holding events back in May, initially starting off with a simple login event that gifted Build Mode and Create-a-Sim elements to players. In honor of the recent Life and Death Sims 4 Expansion Pack‘s release, the most recent event has focused on the Grim Reaper. However, players are coming out of the woodwork with complaints about it.

A fan of The Sims 4 shares a way to make it much easier for players’ Sims to put the romantic moves on the Grim Reaper.

The Sims 4‘s official social media account reminded players that the Reaper’s Rewards Event is coming to a close on November 19, urging players to finish up their unlocks before it’s too late. Unfortunately, it seems that the date doesn’t matter much to many players, as a significant number have come forward saying that the event has been broken for them.

The exact symptoms vary. Some Sims 4 players have been able to unlock some of the rewards, only to find that the system then stopped acknowledging any progress, locking them out of the remainder. Others have claimed that the event has been broken from the get-go for them, leaving them empty-handed. It seems console players are the most impacted by this, with PlayStation and Xbox players alike reporting problems, but some PC gamers have also been affected. Some on PC have already given up and used mods to unlock the content unofficially.

Sims 4 Players Are Desperate for Help

To make matters worse, several fans have claimed that they’ve reached out for help via official channels and haven’t heard anything back. There are numerous threads on the official Sims 4 channels compiling the problems players have had over the weeks of the Reaper’s Rewards event, but for the most part, there’s been no helpful response. Some reached out directly to support, and were informed their bug was fixed when it wasn’t. Reminding these players that the event is coming to a close is being seen as adding insult to injury.

With a little over ten days left at the time of writing to fix this, players are up in arms and very unhappy. It would be great if EA either extended the event after making sure that everything’s 100% fixed. Others have simply requested that the items be distributed to everyone in light of these problems. For now, players are stuck waiting for an official response.
