The Best Apprentice Build In Brotato

The Best Apprentice Build In Brotato

Playing Apprentice in Brotato and Brotato Abyssal Terrors DLC is a similar but not quite the same experience. Even though it is the same character with the same pros and cons, the addition of new items and mechanisms like the Curse changes the rules of the game enough that we all need a new lesson in this roguelike.

Brotato: All Unlockables And How To Get Them

This is the guide you need for all unlockables in Brotato and how to unlock them.

We’ll review two builds we believe are the best for this spud. The builds are a general guideline as we can’t know which weapons, items, and stats you will get in the game’s randomness but both can be used to defeat Danger 5 in both Crash Zone and The Abyss.

Apprentice Ghost Scepter Build

As the name says, in this build you’ll be going for Ghost Scepters that give you HP as they ramp up kills on their counter. At a few initial waves, you should take +Max HP stat at level up since the Ghost Scepters aren’t clearing aliens that great, and your HP is at 8 or 9. After wave 5 or 6 you can pick up one or two Ghost Axes to start boosting your damage percentage.

During the mid-game, you will start getting plenty of HP from the Ghost Scepters and even though they will be picking up most of the kills, Ghost Axes will get more than a few that will allow you to have that damage percentage increase.

The core primary stats you should focus on with the Apprentice Ghost Scepter build are:

  • Attack Speed.
  • Crit Chance.
  • Speed.
  • Dodge.

Attack Speed and Crit Chance are a wonder combo that is a must-have in this build since Ghost Scepters are your main killer and are single-target weapons. As you probably know, the swarms of enemies in each level are just getting bigger and stronger so you need to clear them fast if you want to survive.

Getting Dodge is great since Ghost weapons’ default bonus is bonus Dodge and – Armor. At 6 Ghost weapons in your hands, you will get +30% Dodge which means you only need to get an additional 30% either through level stats or items to max out the stat.

Taking Speed here and there and keeping it at least 15-20 (but the more you have the better) will give you space to outrun any potential horde or a boss that you can’t clear or defeat that easily. Running out of their reach will allow you to still complete the level without dying.

Secondary stats are also very important but often omitted. Make sure you never miss anything that gives you Piercing, Bounces, and + XP Gain.

Apprentice Guns Build

Guns build is probably one of the most popular builds for many characters in Brotato, and it can work with Apprentice as well. This will be a glass canon build so if you opt in for it you need to be careful while running around and not take 2 or 3 direct shots at once.

When getting your guns make sure you have SMGs with one or two Shredders. In mid to late game you can replace one SMG with either Laser Gun or Revolver for stronger single-shot damage. Shredders can be replaced with Rocket Launchers and Nuclear Launchers if you get them and similarly, if you run across a Minigun or Chain gun you can swap it with SMG.

The key stats in Apprentice Guns build are:

  • Max HP.
  • Attack Speed.
  • Luck.
  • Damage %.
  • Speed.

Since you lose HP every time you level up you need to add +Max HP from the level-up stats from early on. Try and keep your HP at around 50+ and pick up the Armor stat occasionally as it scales really well in the 1 to 10 range. This will help you have some survivability and not die from one shot.

Do not run into big enemies as that move instantly takes out a lot of your HP. If aliens swarm you and you have nowhere to go, it’s better to push through small enemies that will only take out a single-digit HP from your pool.

Luck is an important factor to get and constantly increase since it will give you more of those stronger +6 and +9 HP boosts on level-up that you desperately need. Luck will also give you more consumables drops for healing so you don’t have to pick up HP Regeneration.

When it comes to clearing waves, Attack Speed alongside a Damage percentage boost will be the key. You don’t need to take Ranged Damage as you’re getting +1 every time you level up.

Picking up Speed is always key for running away from bosses and picking up material that your enemies drop as it’s not worth much laying on the ground.

When it comes to Secondary stats, Piercing and Piercing Damage are a must-have with the gun build as they significantly push your wave-clearing capabilities. Consumable Heal and Explosion Size/Explosion Damage can also help greatly as you will have one or two explosive guns equipped at all times.
