EA has unveiled the upgraded features of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on the PlayStation 5 Pro. The enhancements made to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor include a mix of different visual upgrades that take advantage of the new console’s powerful hardware.

Details of the game’s new features on PS5 Pro were revealed by publisher EA on November 7, the same day as the launch of the new mid-generation PlayStation console. Featuring a slew of upgrades over the standard PlayStation 5 console that was released in 2020, including better memory, rendering, and storage space, the PlayStation 5 Pro should bring better performance to any PS5 game when played on the new console. However, multiple developers have updated their games to take advantage of the new hardware, and the list of PS5 Pro-enhanced games at the console’s launch numbers more than 50, including Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi has stuck to its neatly packaged release formula and yet the “final chapter” should endeavor to continue the journey.

While the announcement on the official EA website doesn’t include any surprise PS5 Pro upgrades aside from visual and performance improvements, EA uses it to break down the PS5 Pro-enhanced Star Wars Jedi: Survivor upgrades into two parts that both deal with noticeably higher base resolutions in both Performance Mode and Quality Mode. When running Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in Quality Mode, the PS5 Pro version upscales visuals from 1800p to 2160p while maintaining 4K resolution and raytraced elements. When switched to Performance Mode, the new console upscales the game’s resolution from 1200p to 1800p, still providing more vibrant and detailed visuals, and that mode also utilizes raytraced occlusion and reflections while maintaining a 60 fps frame rate.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Pro Enhancements

Originally released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in April 2023, the action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe was ported to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One less than two months ago. Developer Respawn Entertainment is still working to release patches for the game, with a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor update from October specifically targeting gameplay improvements on last-generation console versions. While neither Respawn nor EA has stated as such, some fans have stated the belief that the October patch will allow the last-gen version of the game at least one more potential future release on the eventual successor to the Nintendo Switch.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor isn’t the only game from its fictional galaxy that has received an enhanced PS5 Pro version. A more recently released Star Wars game, Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws, is also on that list, though that game’s news page doesn’t have any details on what specific enhancements the PlayStation 5 Pro brings to that game.
