Key Takeaways
- Good Smile has revealed its very first Metaphor: ReFantazio Nendoroid.
- The figure is modeled after the game’s protagonist, giving them a typical, chibi-style Nendoroid makeover.
- Pre-orders for the figure are now open but it won’t ship until Q4 2025.
Last month Metaphor: ReFantazio arrived and likely shook up a lot of Game of the Year lists – we really shouldn’t have expected anything less from the Persona team. Whether you’re still adventuring through Euchornia or you’re already done with Metaphor and can’t stop thinking about it, Good Smile is here to tempt you with the game’s first Nendoroid based on its nameless lead character.
Well, technically the hero does have a name. It’s whatever you decide to call them. That makes naming their Nendoroid a little awkward since they have a different name depending on who’s playing. That’s why Good Smile has simply dubbed them “Protagonist”. Their name doesn’t really matter here though, it’s the design Metaphor fans will care about, and whether Good Smile has successfully been able to apply its signature look to the character.

Hades 2 Already Has Its Own Nendoroid Despite Still Being In Early Access
Taking bets on what will happen first – Hades 2 leaves early access, or these Melinoe Nedoroids ship.
It’s a resounding yes from me, although I’m a fan of most of the work Good Smile does with its Nendoroids. Similar to Funko Pops, Nendoroids have a signature design that is shared across the entire collection. However, and no offense intended to Funko Pops, but Good Smile’s figures tend to be quite a bit more detailed.
A Very Detailed And Almost Certainly Soon-To-Be Very Popular Nendoroid
While characters that get the Nendoroid treatment are all given chibi-style makeovers, there’s plenty of wiggle room to make sure they are still unmistakably the character that the figure has been modeled after. Even though Metaphor’s protagonist looks quite a bit more adorable than they do in the game, plenty from their original design has remained for the figure.
Metaphor: ReFantazio Protagonist Nendoroid
Just one month after the very successful launch of Metaphor: ReFantazio, the game has its first Nendoroid. Its unnamed protagonist has been given a chibi makeover for the figure and is highly detailed, right down to the lead character’s heterochromia.
The Nendoroid has the same deep blue hair and white jacket as the hero does in the game, and even the character’s heterochromia has been incorporated into the design, a condition that makes your eyes different colors. Since the Nendoroid’s eyes are so much bigger than they are in the game, that one is brown and one is blue stands out a lot more. It might even be the first time you’ve noticed if you weren’t paying close enough attention while playing, or if you haven’t progressed very far.
The downside of Nendroid pre-orders is how long you have to wait for them to ship. Metaphor’s debut figure won’t be released until Q4 2025. On the bright side, the figure is quite a bit cheaper than most other Nendoroids at $25.99. That might be because it doesn’t seem to have quite as many replaceable parts, if any, as other figures. Just a sword in their hand, and even that isn’t shown elsewhere so might be fused in place.
From the creative minds behind Persona 3, 4, and 5 comes Metaphor: ReFantazio, a unique fantasy world, where your protagonist will journey alongside his fairy companion, Gallica, to lift the curse from the kingdom’s lost prince.
