NIP has announced the return of iconic Counter-Strike player Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg as a brand ambassador, playing a key role in leading the team’s competitive and creative efforts.
NIP f0rest – returning home after 4 years
The legendary player previously played for the organization between 2012 and 2020, having won a Major back in 2014 and being featured among the HLTV top 20 players four times. Going forward, f0rest won’t play competitively anymore after nearly two decades of professional career and will join NIP to help them as a brand ambassador.
The announcement was made directly by the organization, which shot an announcement video in Birka, Sweden’s oldest town.
According to a release, he will be co-streaming NIP’s Counter-Strike team’s matches, including their upcoming bid to qualify for the Shanghai Major at the RMRs. He will also be streaming games daily on Twitch through Counter-Strike matchmaking platform FACEIT, giving fans the chance to play with him and take part in community events.
Limited merchandise to be released
NIP has also been working to release a limited merchandise line, including clothing, a limited edition jersey commemorating the iconic 87-0 streak, a digital collectable, and much more. One of the first f0rest live streams will take place at the Svenska Cupen in the Swedish capital of Stockholm on November 9-10.
“Becoming a Brand Ambassador at Ninjas in Pyjamas truly feels like a homecoming moment. I’m excited to be back where it all started, and I can’t wait to talk to even more Ninjas in Pyjamas fans, both old and new, throughout this exciting journey” said Patrik ‘f0rest’ Lindberg.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome back one of the most well-known faces associated with our iconic esports organization,” said Hicham Chahine, Co-CEO of Ninjas in Pyjamas. “Patrik did great things with us as an esports player and we look forward to making him at home again as a Brand Ambassador. Patrik’s strong following and ties to Ninjas in Pyjamas made working with him again a no-brainer, and we can’t wait to see how our new partnership unfolds”.
NIP’s expansion continues
NIP recently made headlines for going public on NASDAQ with parent company NIP Group. The business was formed following a merger between Ninjas in Pyjamas and digital sports group ESV5, a Chinese esports company specialising in mobile esports. The company currently has operations in Sweden, China, Abu Dhabi and Brazil, with several teams competing across different titles in some of the biggest esports competitions in the world, such as League of Legends in the Chinese League of Legends Pro League (LPL).
