Gold is a valuable resource in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, just as it is in any game, as it gives players the opportunity to purchase important items like weapons, armor, and even gifts for their companions. There are a few adjustments that players can make on the go as a means to make gold quickly without necessarily going well out of their way to do it.

Complete Quests, Including Side Quests

Perhaps the most obvious tip for making gold quickly is to complete the many missions within Dragon Age: The Veilguard. With that said, those looking to stock up on gold in the early stages of the game should also seek out and complete any side quests they encounter on their journey.

Side quests will be easy to identify and discover by the yellow exclamation marks on the map. These can be attached to any of Rook’s companions, and will be of particular interest to those who wish to romance a particular character, like Emmrich. The exclamation marks are also scattered throughout each of the major settlements you explore as your progress through the game.

Smash Any Breakable Objects You Find

Items that glow or flash can be looted by players as they uncover everything that Thedas has to offer, but it’s the most destructive of us that will discover the true extent of wealth waiting to be seized. There is an abundance of valuable items and gold hidden inside of crates, vases, and other breakable objects.

While you’ll only find small amounts of gold, it is worth breaking any object you can to loot its contents. The best places are areas like marketplaces or any shelves of items your find, which you can quickly clear out by using Rook’s dodge roll ability. To make it even easier to collect gold in bulk, the breakables will respawn whenever you save your progress or leave and come back.

Sell Valuable Items to Merchants

Rook will be able to do business with a great number of merchants throughout Thedas, but only a select few will be willing to purchase items from them. These particular merchants are attached to one of the game’s factions, so buying and selling items with them will have a positive impact on your relationship with the associated faction.

As you break your way through objects and collect valuables from purses and small chests you find on your travels, you will encounter a great many valuable objects. These differ from resources, which are used for crafting, and solely exist to be sold to merchants for gold. To check how many valuable items you have, you can open your inventory and check how much you have on hand. Selling these in bulk is a great way to make cash in a heartbeat.

Seek Out and Open Chests

Chests aren’t just large containers filled with gold, but will also grant players a weapon or item of armor to equip themselves or to one of their companions. While you’ll seek out these stronger items for yours and your team’s loadout, they will also commonly include some gold to sweeten the deal.

Just like side quests, Chests are also easy to locate, as there is an abundance of chest symbols on the game’s map. To make it easier to differentiate between those you’ve discovered and those you are yet to open, the chests you have looted will show as opened with a tick next to them.
