As the sequel to Paint it Red!, a game that sits on HowLongToBeat.com with a total playtime of between seven and ten hours, fans came into the game expecting something similar, and thankfully, we won’t be disappointed! This time around, developers The Wild Gentleman have quoted between seven and 11 hours once again, depending on your play style.

If you’re looking to play only the main story beats of Chicken Police: Into the Hive!, focusing exclusively on the goals you’re made to do and clicking quickly through dialogue as you read ahead, then you can expect something around seven hours as your completion time. This style of play gives you the meat and potatoes of the main story and leaves you satisfied with the tale it weaves.

However, if you’re something of a completionist, a fuller 100 percent completion run is slated to take 10–11 hours to finish. Not only will you get to see the whole of the story, but there’s plenty more to do if you have the time to slow down.

Such extras include:

  • Finishing every task laid out in the goals section of the codex, heading off on optional bonus missions to help the people in Sonny’s life. You can do things like plan a birthday party for Bloodboyle, learn more about Monica, help Zipp get his stolen tail back, and more.
  • Getting perfect scores on each interrogation by catering your tone to who you’re talking to.
  • Related, you can fill the entire codex with information about each character, place, and piece of lore about the Chicken Police universe. There’s plenty of stuff to be found, including hints at what’s next for the series from here.
  • Finding all 12 of the pinup calendar pages scattered throughout Clawville, indescript pages tucked into the corners of some scenes begging for Sonny to collect each of them.
  • Collecting each piece of artwork from the game, which you’ll find as you progress through the adventure and can track in your codex.
  • Thriving at the different minigames, such as but not limited to the new addition of Clawville Wildcards or the drinking game Douglas makes you play at the Distant Light.

If you’re truly invested, there’s also a secret ending you can unlock. The relationship you have with Monica decides which ending you see, so if you’ve been diligent in helping the hummingbird, you’ll have some extra content at the end of Chicken Police: Into the Hive!
