Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players are calling for developer Treyarch Studios to buff the Goblin MK2, a controversial assault rifle that some believe doesn’t do anywhere near enough damage to opponents. While there are plenty of fans calling for this Black Ops 6 weapon to be buffed as it is “slow” and a “nightmare” to use, there are some players who don’t actually think the weapon is that bad.
With Season 1 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone now just days away from release, there’s likely going to be a huge number of weapon adjustments coming with the game’s first major content update. Although fans won’t know which weapons are being buffed and nerfed until the official patch notes are released, Activision has revealed which new guns will be released with the launch of Season 1. Both Black Ops 6 and Warzone players will be able to unlock the new Krig C assault rifle and Saug submachine gun via the Season 1 Battle Pass, alongside a plethora of other weapons with a new mid-season event known as The Hit List.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Players Call for Goblin MK2 Buff
Once Season 1 goes live on November 14, Warzone will have nearly 200 weapons for players to choose from, but in its current state, the Goblin MK2 likely won’t be a viable option to use when Black Ops 6‘s weapons are integrated with the free-to-play title next week. Over on Reddit, user SteveHood has called for Treyarch to buff the assault rifle, blasting it as “slow” as it takes three to four shots to kill an enemy in Core game modes. The community appears to mostly agree with the user, as the post has garnered well over 1,200 upvotes at the time of writing.
Although there appears to be an overwhelming consensus from the Call of Duty community that the rifle needs to be buffed, not everybody agrees. Reddit user Connect-Tea-2217 says they “don’t do too bad” with Black Ops 6‘s Goblin MK2, and while it might be slow, they believe it has “great” handling and simply requires the player to have a fast trigger finger. Other users, such as cookkjsc, seem to agree, saying, “I shred with this in core, I don’t get all the hate.”
Although the Goblin MK2 appears to be a pretty divisive assault rifle, Treyarch clearly thought differently to the community as the weapon received a substantial nerf in the latest Black Ops 6 update. Alongside a plethora of other assault rifle nerfs, the Goblin MK2 had its maximum damage range reduced from 39 to 37, but it did have the actual range increased from 6.4m right up to 39.4m. But, as many other users have pointed out on Reddit, this makes very little difference when the majority of Black Ops 6‘s maps are small to medium-sized.
