While additional content for Call of Duty games has historically been pretty poorly received by players, things are different this time around, with them exclaiming, “This is the best Season 1 roadmap ever.”
Activision Is Absolutely Cooking
Black Ops 6, Season 1, comes with a lot of new content. There are a total of six new maps, two new modes, seven weapons, two perks, a scorestreak, and a wildcard being added to the game. And that’s just the multiplayer offering.
Zombies will also come with a bunch of new content, including a massive new map, Citadelle Des Morts.
Comparatively, Modern Warfare 3, Season 1, came with four maps, three 6v6 and one 2v2, and some limited-time modes. There was almost as much new content as Black Ops 6 Season 1, at least on paper. It just wasn’t half as exciting.
This abundance of new content has set the Black Ops 6 subreddit alight, with excitement levels for the upcoming season reaching a fever pitch.
“Probably the best Season 1 roadmap we’ve seen in the post-Modern Warefare ’19 Call of Duty era,” one player said, with dozens more concurring, upvoting the post more than 500 times.

While the amount of content drew applause from the community, one of the modes being added tipped things over the edge. “PROP HUNT LETS F***ING GOOOOO,” one player exclaimed. The hide-and-seek-esque mode was seen as the perfect juxtaposition to Call of Duty’s often lively, often stressful gameplay, with another player saying, “Literally the most exciting news. CoD needs some chills from time to time.”
Alongside the overall update and the Prop Hunt mode, players joined in their droves to discuss the first season, with almost everything getting a big thumbs-up.
Although we’re only a couple of weeks in, it seems like Activision might be onto a winner.
Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative, and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
