Planet Coaster 2: Important PC Hotkeys To Learn
These hotkeys and shortcuts for Planet Coaster 2 should help PC players build faster and manage their parks.
There are a few ways to increase profit in Planet Coaster 2, but few of them work in emergency situations. Plan out your park ahead of time, pay careful attention to guest and staff needs, and cut costs wherever possible to make money faster in Planet Coaster 2.
Make Park Entry Free, But Raise Ride Prices
One of the best ways to increase your income when starting a new park is to make your Park Entrance fee completely free. This might seem counter-intuitive, but it gets more guests through the gates. Instead of charging for entry, one of the best ways to make money in Planet Coaster 2 is to focus on the cost of your Rides, Shops, and other guest facilities.
Guests only enter the park once, but may visit several Coasters and other rides or Shops during their visit. Set everything to Dynamic prices, and raise both the Base and Max price by around 10% to 20% on all of your rides.
Once your park has become established and gained some popularity (around 2000-3000 guests), feel free to start charging for Entry again, and lower your in-park prices by a small amount. Your popularity will guarantee guests keep coming in, and you will generate even more money, but don’t pull the trigger too early and risk ruining your momentum.
Satisfy Guests To Keep Them In Your Park
Getting guests into your park with free entry is one thing, getting them to stay in your park for enough time to generate decent profit is another. Guests can be dissatisfied by a variety of factors in your park, including the availability of different shops, the variety of rides, their overall excitement, panic, and feelings of luxury, and more.

Planet Coaster 2 boasts many new features and improvements from the first game. Here are some of the most exciting additions.
Guests will leave your park early, and therefore stop spending money, if they become too dissatisfied. To make more money from guests in Planet Coaster 2, regularly check your guests’ satisfaction through random surveys (clicking) or by checking Guest Thoughts on your Rides and Shops. If anything is highlighted in Red, it means you need to fix the problem soon or the guest will continue to build dissatisfaction.
Pay Close Attention To Your Staff Needs
Staff are one of the biggest sources of income loss in Planet Coaster 2, and one of the best ways to make more profit is to keep your Staff as small as possible while maintaining their Morale to the minimum level.
It might sound a bit unethical, but if you avoid giving your staff Raises until their Morale reaches its lowest level (Red), you will save a lot of money in the long term.
Your Staff might not perform to their absolute highest level, but you will save serious cash, and the park will keep running. If a long-time employee is making a lot more than the default wage for a new hire, consider replacing them to save even more money.
To keep your staff trim, don’t hire extra Ride Attendants or more extraneous Staff than needed. Only hire enough Lifeguards to cover the exact dimensions of your pools, and shape your Pools to match their viewing area. Only hire a new Janitor if your park has expanded significantly since the last one, and if Guests are regularly complaining about the trash. Avoid hiring Entertainers in general, and only hire enough Mechanics to avoid having constant issues with your Rides and other Machines.
If you pay attention to your Staff, and take care of their needs only when necessary, you will save a lot of money and generally increase your profits in Planet Coaster 2.
Add Scenery Everywhere To Increase Appeal
In Planet Coaster 2, Scenery is one of the biggest contributors to your park’s appeal and the Prestige of your Rides, Shops, and other features. There are hundreds and hundreds of ways to customize your Theme Park with Scenery, and each piece placed (especially near high-traffic areas and popular rides) will boost your Guests’ satisfaction with the park.

Planet Coaster allows for a great deal of freedom when designing a park; here are the best themes players should consider using.
A lot of success in Planet Coaster 2 is tied to making sure Guests’ needs are met and exceeded, as it encourages them to stay in the park and spend more money.
Spend a decent amount of time customizing the Scenery for all of your Rides, Paths, and Shops, as well as other major hubs of activity, to increase your Guests’ perception of the park and increase the Prestige of your rides – the more famous your rides are, the more people will want to come to your park to see them.
If You’re Making Profit, Speed Up Time
One of the simplest ways to make money in Planet Coaster 2 is to speed up time when your numbers are going up. Even if you are only making a few dollars in profit every tick, at 5x speed, you will see your available money start to build up very quickly.
There are three speeds: 1x (default), 3x, and 5x speed. Click the three arrows on the bottom right of your screen to switch between speeds on the fly.
If you are making a profit, your park is well-staffed, has enough facilities to meet guest needs and enough Rides and other features to keep them entertained, speeding up time is a surefire way to get more cash quickly.
Speeding up the game isn’t an excuse to step away from the screen for a few minutes, though.
In sped-up time, your rides will still malfunction, your guests may still become dissatisfied with something, staff may lose morale, and other random problems can arise. Keep an eye on your Notifications tab to see if anything happens, then quickly pause the game to deal with the issue, and continue.
